He seems a bit of a head case, but I love his style of play, he's rugged and very skilled, plus a great finisher. His attitude scares me though. Should we try to aquire Bellamy, i think at around 5 million pounds, the price is right to get a great player right now, and we can do so on the cheap! He could especially help now seeing as we have most likely lost ANOTHER striker in Pongolle.

You DO NOT want Bellamy in your team. Any team with a modicum of self-respect, who is not in a desperate situation (And I mean desperate) should not get this guy; he would destroy locker room morale anywhere.

You know what would be great. If we could buy a passionate, international-quality, champions league-experienced, premier league proven goal-scoring striker for a knock-down price who could fit in right away and replace whatever apathetic half-ass spanish loafer was there in the first place. Man, and for less than james ********ing beattie.

I'll tell you where Bellamy fits in, right the hell at the front of our team. Of course we should buy him. who are these ********ing "head case" people who don't want craig bellamy? i would give anything for somebody on our team to have a pulse right now.

Damn straight man, exactly what was on my mind. Bellamy is a spark, and that is what Liverpool seems to be missing in quantities right now. Plus, Craig can play on the right side of midfield as well which is where there are a few problems right now. Let's face it, Nunez isn't exactly doing great, and I don't care for giving him time to develop. The situation is too important to risk by wanting to give an undeveloped player a chance. He has the pace of Flopo as well so we wouldn't be losing that. I say go for it.

The Bellamy discussion shoud end with this:

He won't be playing for Liverpool.

No thanks, and it's good to see that he WILL NOT be seen in the red of LFC anytime soon.

Why are people so obssesed with us winning NOW. This year was labeled a rebuilding year from the get-go. Also, what is with people trying to say that foreign (in our case, Spanish) players shouldn't be in the EPL. Look at Arsenal last year (the first undefeated team in top-division history.) Their top strikers were from France and Holland, they had a captain who was from Senegal via France, and their German goalkeeper let in less than a goal a game. Their only two significant british players were Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole. Immediately dismissing a player because they don't have "premier-league experience" is like not taking a Jeep off-road just because you've never tried taking it off-road before. Just give them time. These players found success in Spain, they will eventually find it here. Same with the manager, he didn't win the sunday league double. He won a championship in arguably the world's greatest league, La Liga, and won the UEFA Cup. Just because our Spanish players aren't playing like Gerrard yet doesn't mean they won't. Nunez was injured for the start of the season and was finding a groove before his suspension. Alonso's been great. Give the other's some time. There will be a next year for us to wreak havoc. Right now, we should just focus on top four, winning the Carling Cup, and making the final 8 of the CL (a reasonable goal). If we can do that, while acclimating players for next year, I would call this season a success.

Also, has ANY other Prem team been hit this hard in recent memory by injuries to the majority of their top players??? It would be nice to have the cash to afford a great bunch of bench players like chelsea or man U, but we just don't seem to have the funds right now. Are we ever going to accept an investor with major dollars that can seriously help the team's finances out??? I'm sure if a Rusian came to buy Liverpool, people would be up in arms, but look at the good stuff he's done for chelsea, has he hamed the club in any way, or has he helped them greatly???? i'm sick of the politics in choosing investors for the club, we lack the funds to compete fully with the Man U's, Chelsea's, and even Arsenal's of the league now, and it is a shame for a proud club with such great past triumph's like Liverpool!!!

Bellamy is crap, and a pain in the dressing room.
No thanks.

Oh, OK, let;s stick with a razor thin bench then, and see what happens when injuries hit...oh wait, it's happenning right now, and how well are we faring??? The same crap can be said for Roy keane, but I like him, he is a proven winner, and like him or not, try to tell me he is not a successful player and hasn't won everything there is to win in club football (Bellamy reminds me of him in his spirit and aggressive play a lot)! Hate all we want about Keane, but he is a winner, and a hard man in midfield that has gained result's, if you want soem fancy pants **********'s that will not fight other than Stevie, then we will stay where we are! Does anyone actually think that S. Pong is anywhere near the player Bellamy is..if so, go smoke some more of that good ********, Pongolle is not even half as good as Bellamy, and at a cut rate price, we can get a player that fights till the end and cares, not an injured puss that dilly-dallies with the ball and scores the odd goal here and there!!! If you want choir boys, then get used to losing people, the winners today that are needed as hard men in the mid are sometimes bastards, and that is what helps make them great winners and great hard men in the midfield, we've had a lack of them, and look at how great we've been lately!!! Do we want to win, or do we want to do OK and MAYBE be a top 4 team each year (and struggle to do so as well), I myself would rather be winning games with even the Roy Keane's and Craig Bellamy's of the Prem rather than lose to them each year, wouldn't you?????

It's not all about winning, here and now. It's about building something that can deliver us our expectations over the longer term. Bellamy might be a fine player when he shuts up and just gets on with it, but he's not a Liverpool player long-term. I'd have no problem signing him on a loan until the end of the season just to get us through this injury spell, but beyond that? Nah - he's of no interest. He's on forty grand a week at Newcastle, which is a lot to pay for an injury-prone sulk with a violent temper and a higher regard for his own place in the world than is warranted.

A further problem with the Bellamy idea is that he is in the shtuck he's in because he hates playing wide right ... which is more or less the only place he could play for Liverpool. Baros and Morientes are the first-choice striking partnership - and even that's only when we play 4-4-2, which is increasingly rare these days. He's not the lead man in the more usual 4-5-1, not with Morientes at the club, so he'd be a bit of an idiot to come to Liverpool to escape what he sees as his main problem at Newcastle.

wait a minute! he is Welsh, is he not? i thought Liverpool already had John Welsh. why do we need another Welsh player. one isn't enough?

plus the fact he would need a whole new uniform. those cost money. maybe he could borrow Cisse's for the rest of the season. but you could only tell that he wasn't Cisse. they're not even close to the same size. but he might like wearing 9, mightn't he? NUMBER FREEKING NINE! get it, get it?

We can take him on loan until end of the season. Let him score a couple of goals for Liverpool to improve our league standing and take us further in the Champ League. By the end of the season, we'll say good bye to him because he's not deemed to be good enough for this club. :D

I just love the thinking (Or lack thereof) of some people here.

"Hey! Ronaldo's scoring now. Let's get Rafa to buy him or if Real won't sell we could get him on loan until the end of the season. We won't need him after that.........Maybe ZiZu will come with him."

Do they ever think:
Perhaps he's not for sale or costs too much.
Perhaps he doesn't want to come to Anfield (Huh!?)
Maybe Rafa dosn't think he'd fit (Huh!!?)
Yeh, Roy Keene will leave manure and come on loan until we replace Stevie G. (Why not?)

Come on, think first, then post. Just discussing Keene as if it were an option is just a waste of reading time.

The last two posters have it just right!!!!
