So, I've recently joined the "file sharing" movement with reckless abandon. I'm doing lots and lots of traveling for work, and want to take my ever growing collection of MP3s with me. Can somebody recommend a good, easy to use, reasonably priced MP3 player? I basically know nothing about these suckers, except that I think I want a hard drive-based one (so I can take most or all of my songs with me). Anybody have any recommendations? Is it unreasonably of me to want to spend less than 200 bucks, and still be satisfied? Many thanks.

I had a thread about this a couple of months back. I got a Nomad 10GB player in July or August, and it's got about 3,000 songs on it and still has over 3 GB left. It's inexpensive (you prob. could come in at about $200 now), the sound is good, the rechargable battery life is longer than I expected, and with a microphone you can record external sound as well. The down sides are that it's heavy, and with a USB connection it's slower than the iPod.
The Rio Riot 20GB can be found for about $250 now, and the sound on them is very good. It also has an AM/FM tuner.
People with Macs who have spent the money on iPods adore them. They are the most expensive player on the market, though.

I would have to agree with the iPod crowd. I love mine, and you can also use it as an address book and more.
I believe you can do the same with the Windows version as well.

I would be lost without my iPod.
