Arsenal.com are having a vote for what the patch on next season's kits should be. Go vote. And you better not pick something stupid. Americans I'm talking to you. We recently have a history for voting for stupid things.

How do we know if they are stupid when we can't see them? ;)
I prefer the idea clock meself. Curcular listing of all the titles seems to be a little strange to me. Aside from that one, hard to see them screwing this up.

I like the clock idea, myself.

How common is this in football? Baseball teams do it all the time, and gridiron teams (like the Browns, who have a goofy commemorative patch now permanently on their uniform) are falling prey to it.

1 The Art Deco façade of the East Stand with the outline of Herbert Chapman's bust in the middle.

I like this idea but while Chapman is of course a legend, there are many other achievements at highbury outside of his reign

3. A circular badge listing the trophies Arsenal have won while at Highbury and their years. The words and dates would spiral inwards towards the
centre where there would be space for the words "Success 1886-2006"

This would display those achievements, but the whole circling in would just be hard to read and look a bit shite.

4. The clock face from the Clock End.

Yawn. Arsenal is about more than one stand...

5. Images of players from the past and present in the different kits

Im not sure you could fit all the great players over the years on one patch...

2. The Art Deco façade of the East Stand with '1913-2006' underneath and a representation of the trophies won whilst at Highbury around it

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to jegerpenge again.

like Bush

i think Clock face would be best
it would be a bit creepy to have faces of past players on different jerseys

I still want to see what they look like. I'm inclined to vote for the clock face, only because it's the simplest and least likely to be screwed up.

Why don't Arsenal make shirts with the 5 different lame commemorative patches? That way stupid fans can waste 5 times as much money collecting them all. Personally i would like them to save the ugly maroon shirts for the final game at Highbury, i can't see the point in wearing them all season long. And i definitely won't be buying one.

They will most likely be option extras, like lettering and EPL or CL patched...

If they suck dont put them on!

Ditto.

And by the way it reads, this is going to be a sleeve patch just like Dave says, so you won't have to buy it.

Yeah that is the way I went. Some of the others sound really bad. The one listing every trophy sounds like an eye exam. The Chapman one sounds ok but not for this purpose. The clock is another ok badge but doesn't really fit as the only commemorative patch.

The only other one that sounds like a possibility is the "Images of players from the past and present in the different kits" but again I worry about the eye exam factor.

If they could make it spin it might be useful to hypnotize opposing players. Just a thought. :D

All I can say to this is whooopppee-dooo. Why not let the fans decide on the entire shirt in the same way ?

Oh and according to Arsenal.com, the players can't actually wear these patches due to PL regs so it'll just be the fans...

Still we can all pretend to be Notts Forest supporters for a year...

Pretty funny, since we got our colors from them in the first place.

But are you saying that they wear redcurrant? They sure look scarlet to me.

Yeah, but does anyone identify redcurrant with Forest? I always think scarlet.

No, you're right, I was just making a point about the patches being a bit silly given that the palyers aren't wearing them, and the history of the club is that we had to 'borrow' another teams tops. It wasn't until we got the white arms that we became unique. Think I must have been in a bit ofa grouch at the time!
