Kolo Toure has been charged with violent conduct by the FA, after clashing with Alan Shearer during the Newcastle match. BBC Sport- Toure charged over Shearer clash (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/4205029.stm) If he denies the charge his case will be heard on Thursday and he could face a three match ban, taking him out of the Wolves, ManU, and Aston Villa games. WTF? This could be a big problem.

What exactly was the incident? I must've missed it.
Its only Ray Parlour

He dropped his elbow into Shearer's back during an aerial challenge. Very stupid move, i know this was going to happen. He's just lucky that Shearer never made a meal of it as he probably should have been sent-off.

Yeah, from waht I saw on a replay on Sky Sports he's bang to rights. Expect a three match ban to be coming his way soon.

Yeah, cause we get away with everything...
Like Rooney's 3 match ban for less than Toure's infraction?

And not to mention Drogba's throttling of Quinton Fortune which the FA has done jack-sh!t about...

Does anyone else think that the FA just wakes up each day and says "Hmmmm, let's ee who we can ******** with today...". Either that, or they throw darts to decide who's going to get their special screw job. It's all so completely random.

It's not that random, it all has to do with how difficult the fixtures coming up are. The odds increase exponentially if a hard run of games is coming up.

Not surprised they spotted it (esp. after Fergie sent them a 5 hour tape with the incident looped every 10 seconds). It was quite obvious when I saw it on TV on monday, Toure was reacting to Shearer doing his normal argybargy bit, which over the years he's perfected so that it rarely gets called a foul, but can unsettle the defender.
I spose with the FAs new rules there's no way to avoid Toure missing the Manu game.
Still Wenger might now go out and buy a new CD, or even one that can play at CM too... (Edu replacement). Theres a thought!

Solano's push in Silvestre's face....
Oh spare us the ManU pity party. Can you say with a straight face that ManU doesn't more often than not benefit from referee calls? Sheesh.
On Toure, this is lousy timing, but these things seem to crop up at the worst times all too often. The FA is rubbish, but that's nothing new. I noticed in one article that Souness said he was sure the referee had seen the clash between Toure and Shearer, but if that's true then why is the FA bringing it up as a result of video replay, which is supposedly only for things the referee missed? Or am I just going down a blind alley expecting the FA to show the slightest consistency?

Yep, you are.
How does Drogba choke another player in an incident shown over and over again but Toure gets charged for an elbow that I've only seen on one highlight? I guess the FA closes their eyes when Chelsea video is on.
How can they charge Everton and Boro for their players actions but not charge Chelsea and ManU for their fracas?
How can Ben Haim get charged given the Piglet's ban?
Why hasn't a clear dive in yesterday's game led to a charge?

The FA have done us enough over the years for me to comfortably laugh out loud at this.

And they've done enough in ManU's favor over the years that I can comfortably laugh out loud at your response! When referees at OT start giving out penalties to visiting teams more often than we get a good snowfall here in Phoenix, I'll give your contention more consideration :)

When was the last time the FA did us a favour?
Dodgy ref decisions are not what we are discussing in this thread, the complete ineptness of the FA and their disciplinary process are on the table...

I'd say there's a bit of a link between the two. Certainly there are times when ManU is hard done by, but I still think that you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who isn't a ManU fan who doens't think they don't get more breaks from both referees and the FA than their opponents get. I have several friends who are ManU fans and they freely admit that they get breaks more often than not.
