What up Reaper, its nice to see you on the Chelsea boards for a change. Did you get lost or something? Just a piece of advice, if your on your own teams board its not trolling. Spread the love, (and the rep, dam, you got way more rep than posts, I know, you got friends) Anywho congrats on the league cup, and probably the league. Lets see if you guys have it in Europe, or as we call it, The Final Frontier. :D

I didnt think the goal was Howard's fault. Its catch 22 for a keeper when someone puts a peach of a ball like that into the box. There were about 3 Chelsea players who missed it by an inch, and if he followed the line of the ball, he may have looked stupid had they got a touch.

Balls like that need to be dealt with by the centre halfs. Otherwise - keeper's nightmare.

why do we go to OT, dont we have more away goals?

In the Carling Cup, away goals only count after extra time (aka overtime/OT).

After watching the match;

hard fought well played by both; Lamp & Duff were the bollocks; Drogba played really well, geting back to form, nice pass to Lamps, brilliant carrying the ball all around the top of the box to deliver the pass, with the Tiago dummy to Robben, but nice Timmy save.

Duff really worked hard to get back & defend, cleared some trouble out of the box. Tiago, I wonder about some times, lost the ball a little easy and always looks for the back pass 1st, but had a really good game, really positioned and defended well you can see why JM trusts him for a match like yeaterday, though I still go with the scientific "Clan Order of Preference Table." :D

Bridge, I think had an excelllent match, brilliant late save on the line, proved why he needs to start. As to the penelty shout, yeah, he was a little sloppy sticking his leg out and stepping on the foot, but the ball was already gone out of the box and going into Chelsea's possession, plus Foutune was doing a Pires tribute, so ref made the right call.

(editorial rant- f sky and the media going on and on about it after going on and on about the spur's Smertin penelty, which was worse and more clearly a penelty, as were the Robben shouts in the spurs match- actually 1 out of three was fair, though the second Robben was the best shout, Smertin was a clear penelty but barely)

May be reading too much into it but the post-match hug between JM & Bridge seemed rather cold and formal by both men (insert deserved scathing comments for my even bringing it up here)

The announcers in a rare moment of clarity, said Cech started because of ManUre's penchant for crosses into and at the top of the 6 yard box, which Cech deals with better naturally almost beyond aurgument I say, so right decision, and Cech had a couple fine saves and did handle the crosses well. Unfair to Carlo no doubt, but this match was far more importent than the competition in which it was played. It sounded in the JM interview that may not have been the most popular lockerroom decision, but Carlo is promised final start.

Gallas, particularly fine performence and the rest Terry, Mak, Robben, PF, Gud typical fine jobs.

As to the devil, Scholes had a really fine match, the stepover punk played a more focused less showy match, Giggs played well and his goal was sublime (make a nice backup here :) ), really like Heinze as a player. Saw no reason why Rio should play ahead of JT, he and Silvestri mucked up the free kick far more than Howard, who had two really fine saves, and thought Rio may have heard of and marked Lamps :p.

The top 11 on each side are near evenly matched, in good current form, played well and fair for the most part, our defense better and deeper, definatly better and deeper in goal, better/younger by a wee bit in midfield. Both have good attackers/wings, though I would take Duff and Robben any day. Because of ManUres defense I really seeing them finishing ahead of the Arse.

Also it was refreshing to see a gracious defeat and post-match SAF, and no food thrown as well.

It doesnt work like that. The away team has to score 6 before the away way away away rule kicks in.

I love love LOVE how quiet the bar I was at got when Duffer scored. LOVED IT.

So great. I'm still beaming. :D
yeah, that was one helluva cross, erm..., goal by Duff. ;)
Nice meeting you yesterday. I think you were also at the match last year when Chelsea also defeated Utd  , when you and that lad from the Caribbean who kept shouting "TINKA-MON, TINKA-MON" we're pretty much the only Chelsea supporters in the pub.
Anyway, well done Chelsea, see you back at Old Trafford in a few months.

LMAO, you remember that! That was hilarious. I had Tinka-mon stuck in my head for ages after that. :D

Shows you how far DC Blues have come, from being two in a sea of hundreds to being 4-5 strong in a sea of hundreds, minus the Chelsea supporters just visiting DC for holiday. ;)

It was great meeting you too! I left a similar message on the ManYoo board for you, but it was quickly overtaken by Howard banter (go figure). I'm not sure how many more daytime matches I will be able to make it to, but it's a nice way to break up the afternoon.

Anyone else notice when Gallas pulled his pants down while walking out and we all got a shot of his bulge coming out of his tighty whitey's?
