First game back and the boys look good, BUT man, can we catch a break at outside back this season?!! Liza down with a calf strain, Brazzo just returned, Sagnol still out and Gorlitz likely to mess most if not all of the rest of the season. Thank God we have a slew of midfielders that are adaptable in a variety of positions.

That being said, it is great to hear the names Scholl, Zickler, and even Jeremies once again. With Ballack returning into the lineup, the midfield looks as strong as ever.

What has happened to Ze Roberto's form this season? Is he just having a spell or is he just not fitting the mold under Magath's system? Schweinsteiger will have his spot is it continues. Deisler seems to also be going nowhere fast. Some talented boys not in the top 11.

Thanks heavens we have a big squad

My problem w/ Ze Roberto is that his contract is up soon. Does not give him much leverage --unless he just wants to leave. But not playing does help him if we would like to move to a team w/ aspirations. OR he simply just has not been good enough to displace the other boys. As you said --some talented boys not in the top 11. Quite a balancing act, but probably the best situation when your team is competing on several fronts.

Yea, I have a feeling if Ze Roberto doesn't step it up the second half of the season he will be sold in the summer, unfortunately. I don't know if its Magath's system that he isn't fitting into or his lack of keeping up with Bayerns new style of play. I hope he stays, I've always liked him. He is good to have around for Champions League games.

Sell him to Roma.

Roma will need all the players they can get, Cassano and Totti will surely leave after this season is done with.
