My wife is a costume designer for the the theatre and movies here in Central Europe. She has just recently taken on a new play. This work is from Lloyd-Webber, entitled "The Beautiful Game" The musical looks at the problems of Northern Ireland in the late 1960s, using the vehicle of an amateur football team coached by a Catholic priest in Belfast ( I am not a theatre fan myself, but as I understand it, this was one of the few bombs in London for Lloyd Webber. He is relaunching it here in Budapest with considerable personnel involvement)
She is trying to get an idea on historically correct costumes. I have pulled some sights on George Best, as he was one of the biggest stars of the period and is also from Belfast
I am wondeirng if the members of this board can direct me to sites with photos of the period that would not only include ideas for the football kits, but also for the crowd/fans
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Mods- if this is the incorrect place to post this, please let me know
