About the atmosphere that the Parc will miss untill the end of the season i've read this on a Chelsea forum:
That's what you won't see Levante cause of the fan's strikes.
The LFP and Francis GRAILLE are trying to ban the Ultras from the Parc ( and after that from the others french stadiums ) but the Parc need the ultras that's why there is a big crisis between the fans and the management.
Maybe Ganu will give better explanations cause my english is weak :(
Well that's too bad....... but I'm still going to go........
By the way... your English is excellent. My French non-exixstent........ but I will try :D

[QUOTE=cass75]About the atmosphere that the Parc will miss untill the end of the season i've read this on a Chelsea forum:
"Wow wow wow !! The atmosphere yesterday was just amazing!! To those who have been to many other European games maybe it wasn’t as good as the likes of Milan and Besiktas (even if the game wasn't in their stadium), but as someone who’s only ever been to games in England it was just incredible! And having to be escorted to the stadium by armoured police was interesting, I guess there really were concerns about the PSG fans, though the ones we saw were quite nice and either singing before the game or looking fed up afterwards (understandably). Once inside the stadium the first thing everyone noticed was the constant noise, it was so loud! We were right next to where the hardcore fans sit (I guess their equivalent of the MH except slightly more animated!) and I really was in awe of the atmosphere coming from there, the drums going all the time, the flares being lit, the constant singing and chanting even when they were 3-0 down.. oh and of course many boos and whistles for Drogba... There really was so much noise I could barely hear the ppl around me!"
Other:
"Got to admit thought they were top class with their singing, flag waving, finger across the throats signs. Even so at 3-0 down they carried on supporting, didn't boo their players once. Well impressed. Made it an even better night".[QUOTE]
Unfortunately, that description was more of an exception to the rule. i was there than night and it was incredible, but i have also gone to three other games at the parc this year and the atmosphere was awful. if you want to enjoy the game, sit in the sections bordering either end of the stands as they always make noise. my mate is in the kop de boulogne and never has a dull moment

Do you know that there is no supporting from the Ultras since september?I know we're not italian, turkish or greek but your words are quite excessive.
Anyway I hope we'll be up to Lille or Queens Park Rangers standard.

I think that the poor atmosphere is more to do with the teams poor performance this year than anything else. I was at the game against Istres last weekend and the crowd was different. It seems to have gotten worse as the season has continued...and no, I didnt realize the ultras had been quieted to that extent...
btw...I have the same standard for Lille, QPR, and Ajax. Its just that the ArenA sucks and QPR has a very small, cozy stadium. Lille has a special place in my heart because when I used to go to their games, I would sit with my friends in the ultras section...I have never been more afraid than when I was at the Lille-Lens game in Lille...

The Nantes game.........what is the official start? The official PSG website doesn't have a start time, but L' Equipe shows a 20:00 hour start for all French Ligue 1 games that weekend.

By the way........ if any of you native Parisians have any advice on where to stay (for one night only.......the rest of the nights are covered) which cafe's to visit, or even which nightclubs to go to......... I would greatly appreciate it.

It should be 20:00 as always. I'm not sure if Canal+ are showing this live? Its probably right - it wouldn't change that quickly.

pfffffffffff.............
Now that depends on how you class a "visit." I'm more a Islander than a Parisien.

What's this about PSG paying a penalty for the Nantes game and playing in an empty stadium.
I got my tickets, but I'm sad to hear of this rumor.

Its those racist dickheads in the Boulogne again, I gonna go up there and sort these thugs out myself. Erm, with some backup of course.....
I not that daft.
No, the PSG v Bastia game is behind closed doors, because of the idiots (of whom make up 1% of fans) who decide to ruin it for the rest if us. Rest assured the St-Germain thread is up for another ganu PSG bashing right now.
See this LFP......this my middle finger. And guess what? You can stick this up your fat corrupt arse. Go and get rid of these dickheads and stop punishing th e real PSG fans like me! ********ing disgraceful. The organistaion is a joke.

woahhhhhhhhhhhh........Hey it was after the water-shed son. And thats the very harshest thing I could have said.

Fans lit flares, safety issue. Told Graille to ******** off.......yadda yadda yadda. Some morons however caused some damage at the ground. Coupled with this and the recent problems with racist dickheads at the ground, the FFF and the LFP have issued a stadium ban for the Bastia match.

What sort of stuff are you looking for? I know Paris quite well and can give you info on some of the best (and cheapest) bars as well as nightclubs. I guess that is one of the perks of being a college student...

They're trying to ban ultras? I don't see the point in doing something like that. They are a part of the game. I was somewhat dissapointed at the PSG supporters when they threw flares. I understand their frustration, but they need to be more safe. PSG needs to get their act together though.
We are not talking about ultras, we are talking about nazis. People with svastikas tattoed on their necks. As Ganu said, they are a very small minority, but they are here anyway.
PSG doesn't need them. Especially since they recently found a lot of new fans : taxmen, cops, juges... What ?... err.. you mean they aren't fans ? They are making investigations ?... Oh.

Hope there is no ban for the April 9 fixture vs. Bordeaux.....I plan to be in the crowd. Trip to the Parc was in jeapordy when girlfriend (non-white) heard about the racist events, but I'll go myself if necessary! :D
Again any general Paris advice is appreciated (our first visit), particulary where to go to watch Champions League matches. Staying in a flat near the Louvre. The PSG game will be my first game in Europe (perfect timing considering the spectacular season the club is having .)

I have a friend in the movie industry who has a flat that over looks the Eiffel Tower.
Seriously. - super cool!
From my own nasty football experiences, one came in Auxerre when my friends and I were chased down the back-streets by a bunch of hools. Not good. :(
Seriously, its like a few idiots who spout this s***t. Unless you decide to sit in the Kop de Boulogne with the ultras, it will not be a problem for you.
As I've said, you are in more danger getting lost and finding crime in the Paris suburbs, than in the PdP, surrounded with local gendarmes.

I have no doubt that this is the case. As with the rest of society, it is aways a small minority that make the majority look bad (or in the case of the US, the 51% that voted for Bush!..oops did I say that?:D)
Either way if anyone is going to that game let me know!
