I love the FA Cup and maybe Arsenal should start showing some love to the FA Cup, as well. The history, passion, and excitement of the world's oldest knockout competition comes to Highbury bringing Glen Hoddle looking for revenge.
The lads should DEFINATELY NOT take this match lightly. But I see our Gunners cruising to a 3-0 victory. Momentum is our friend, we should have scored more a few more goals vs. NUFC. Wolves
Let's make Glen Hoddle grit his teeth for 90+ minutes and then cry like a little girl after the match.....LOL.

Im beginning to like Hoddle actually - anyone who has a go at relegating the Scum is ok in my book.... :D
On the match though, it will be harder than that unfortunatly Catfish. It's the Cup and Wolves are traditional Cup fighters. I see a 1-0 win, with it being a good classic English Cup game, loads of dirty challenges and loads of rain.
Scorer - Flamini this game will be made for him!!

I wonder how having the ManU game so soon after this one will work for picking the team. We obviously need a strong enough team to progress in the competition where we stand our best chance of getting something at the end of the year. Wolves can be dangerous to young cubs so I'm hoping for a fairly good squad this weekend. On the other hand, we really need to beat ManU to keep us clear of them for the automatic CL spot, retain any hope of catching Chelsea, and of course for the sheer joy of stuffing it down ManU's throats.
I'm predicting a tight 2-1 as a less than full strength Arsenal with their eyes on the next game need a late second half goal to advance.

Rick, do you reckon Eileen Drury saw that one coming? ;) :D

I thought you had fallen ill with your shocking comments concerning Hoddle. I agree Wolves could put up a tough fight, but I'm playing the role of the optimist this week. The NUFC match got me grinning again. It would be nice to see Flamini score....he is a scrapper like Freddie. Maybe his toughness will aid our defense.

I hope the boys don't overlook this match with ManU ahead. I see us scrapping together a 2-1 after going down 1-nil. Freddie with the late winner.
Up The Arsenal!

My lineup for Wolves:
-----------Lehmann-----------
Lauren, Toure, Campbell, Clichy
Ljungberg, Vieira, Fabregas, Pires
-------Reyes, Van Persie-----
Subs: Almunia, Henry, Bergkamp, Flamini, Eboue
I'm putting Lehmann in because i think he should play, not because i think he will. I would rest Henry, Cole, and Bergkamp to keep them fresh for the ManU game, and because i don't think they should be needed to beat Wolves.

Id be very surprised if Eboue, Flmini and Jens didn't start....

I would rest Flamini for the Wolves game and start him against ManU. Do you see Eboue starting instead of Lauren?

Yes I do. We need everyone fresh as possible for Man U so therefore I see a few of the bigger stars rested against Wolves.

i hope we can get away with resting some bigger stars and not be knocked out
i'd hate to see us knocked out of the FA Cup due to resting some bigger players
but its Wolves so hey, what the heck

I'm a little worried about this game. So much focus will be on the ManU game and Wolves are on a winning streak, they have won their last three in a row. I would like to see Arsenal rest a few players, particularly Cole, who i thought looked tired in the Bolton game. Clichy deserves to get more games anyway. The problem is we need a win against Wolves or we will either be out of the Cup or facing a replay, which will only add another unnecessary fixture. It will be a tough job to balance the right amount of experience and young players. I'm curious to see how Wenger handles this one.

It would be very easy for the boys to focus too much on the ManUre game and not take Wolves seriously enough. It would be really sad if we crashed out of the FA cup so soon. Cuz we should be able to reach the semi's with no prob, really, but the ManUre game adds stress to the whole thing.
I do hope Lehmann starts, if only so that Almunia gets rest. Henry should be rested, but then I'll be nervous unless we score  I dunno, it's tough cuz our squad really isn't big, especially right now...

Team I expect to see:
Lehmann
Lauren-Toure-Cygan-Cole
Ljungberg-Vieira-Fabregas-Clichy
Van Persie-Reyes
Cygan will be in as he'll need a game before facing Man Utd, I'm under no illusions about Senderos deputising while Kolo's out even though that would be my preferred choice.

If wenger's sticking with Almunia, I'd like to see him get as many games as possible, and he shouldn't be getting tired yet...

Has anyone noticed who the referee is for this game.
I think they've tried to sneak it in un-noticed.
