I'm sorry, but the season is far from over. Chelski does not have a 20 point gap. It is still january, not April. If you have this attitude, you should be benched.

"The truth is it's going to be very difficult to catch them as they keep winning and winning," Almunia told AS.
"We have to be realistic, our chances in the league are scarce.
"They are a rival who are very strong in defence, and in attack someone usually does something.
"Chelsea, unlike Arsenal, are happy on the pitch at the moment. They are playing well, scoring, and their signings have come off.
"We will face Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and we will see how we get on in that."
He just said its very difficult and the chances are slim
he is right though...if you do not think this way you are a fool

Denile is a bad thing (and also a river in Egypt), fair play to him for speaking his mind.
What I find odd though is once again today he kept a clean sheet, which on the face of it looks good, but he only had to make 1 saves that I saw, plus a few that went wide so...
... the defense is making him look better than he is, so why cant they play that way with Lemon in goal. For me he is the better keeper, but its like the defense expects to have to nanny Almunia and plays better as a result

Maybe if they dress Lehman wearing Almunia's shirt, everything'll work itself out. Seriously, Almunia gives us at least one big scare every match, I felt a lot better with Lehman out there, there was less overall bumbling.

I think the most important part of the interview is this one, "Chelsea, unlike Arsenal, are happy on the pitch at the moment." Sounds like all is not well in the team. I mean, I know we're not scoring, but it sounds like there might be more to it.

i think he just means
Chelsea like win everygame liek 4-0 whatever and are happy
and we are coming off a few losses and bad results so we are not happy

I'm hoping that's all it is, because if there's team problems (other than the legal problems of Stack and now possibly Pennant), this could be a long 4 months.

As much as Almunia maybe right, I think it wasn't correct of him to go out an say that. Last year when we had Ranieri, he would frequently come out with a pessimistic attitude and say that we would be lucky to get a point against ManU or Arsenal, and we finished 2nd. Almunia should not discourage his team and himself, he should keep on fighting with a positive attitude. Because of statements like these, it just shows Mourinho and the rest of us are getting to Arsenal, or atleast some of your players.

You only have to watch Almunia play to know that confidence is not his strong suit.

I have no problem him speaking his mind. I have a problem with him sucking though.

you can also tell that sometimes some of the defenders arent the most comfident with Almunia behind them.

I think the defenders have lost confidence in Lehmann and have more confidence in Almunia. I read on other boards how Almunia was better than Lehmann in training and from a newspaper article linked from newsnow that Wenger wanted to put Almunia in sooner but couldn't since they were still on their undefeated run. Almunia is a better shotstopper than Lehmann but just makes poor decisions.

The reason that Aluminium has to go is because he's a crap goalkeeper, not any negative comments he's made inthe press. Lehmann's no better either. The defence have no confidence in either of them.

It must be an awe inspiring situation to watch the goal keeping selection each week! :) Whoever sucks the least at training is in......nice. We are in a better spot than most teams would be who are in this position-2nd in the league without having what most would term to be a decent keeper.......

he never said it was over, he just says there is little chance and thinks that they have more chance in the cl, which imo they do.

He said nothing that any of uys haven't said. There are some issues with Arsenal, but all seem to trying to work it out. As for his statement about the league, many here have said it and at least he is looking forward to the CL matches!
Between him and Lehmann, it is six of one, half dozen of the other as far as I'm concerned. Whoever can stop the shots is tops in my book.

To me, Todays game was the end of the road for Almunia. He should have been yanked after Bolton at the latest. If AW can't see it now, maybe he is as blind as everyone says. We could have done better with that Norwegian triallist, Kot Hangaar.

i would have preferred to have put our Chinese trialist Kno Wun in goals but hey

Almunia sure costed you the premiership. horrible decision making by him when he left the goalpost and tried to get Ryan Gigs.
