The potential demise of Manchester United as a potent force in English football has led to a strange phenomenon known as Scum logic. Scum logic can best be described as the opposite of conventional logic. It exists largely because United fans are desperately trying to convince themselves that the glory days are not over. In order to do this it is necessary to suspend the rules of conventional logic. There are three major aspects to Scum logic.
They are....
1. The Historical Aspect.
2. The Contradictory Aspect.
3. The Numerical Aspect. They work as follows:
1. The Historical Aspect of Scum Logic:
Manchester United fans will always refer to ancient history in order to make a point. They rarely, if ever, utter a sentence without using the word 'treble'. They will always speak of 1999 as if it was yesterday. They will also speak of 1968 as if it was last week. Under Scum logic it is possible to say that Manchester United are currently the best team in the world because of the achievements of George Best and Peter Schmeichel.
Typical Statement: We are the best team in England now because we won the Champions League in 1999.
2. The Contradictory Aspect of Scum Logic:
Under the rules of Scum Logic it is impossible to contradict oneself. Therefore, fans of Manchester United will look upon the result of individual matches as proof of their superiority over other clubs when it suits them but will regard league position as the deciding factor on others. Thus it is possible for them to make the following statements:
(a) Portsmouth beat us in a one-off match but we are superior to them because we are higher than them in the League
(b) Arsenal are higher than us in the league but we are superior to them because we beat them in a one-off match
(c) Chelsea are higher than us in the League and they beat us in a one-off match but we are superior to them because we won the Champions League in 1999.
3. The Numerical Aspect of Scum Logic:
In order to convince themselves that Manchester United is the 'World's Greatest Football Club' it is necessary to suspend the normal rules of arithmetic. Under Scum Logic the following statements are perfectly acceptable.
(a) We have won the European Cup twice which makes us superior to Real Madrid who have only won it nine times.
(b) We are also superior to AC Milan who have only won it six times, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Ajax who have only won it four times and Inter Milan, Benfica and Nottingham Forest who have only won it twice.
ROFL!
How can I not rep this?

i'm a united supporter but also a fan of jermaine. I think the guys has potential but by now it shouldnt be potential, he should be strutting his stuff. he never had a chance after they sent him to leeds and doesnt have a chance at all now. i think he probably did what he did on sunday morning after probably realizing he wouldnt get in the squad for the match and his dumbass went out and got sauced up after being down about his future and then made a fool of himself. he has to take responsibility but i can understand a player in his situatiopn getting depressed about not playing, ( even though we all know the best thing to do in such a situation is work your socks off and a solid club would probably put in a bid for him and if he kept working the rewards would show) and i would hope his agent told him similar things but nonetheless he let himself down i'm sure as well as ashley cuz from what i've heard and seen, ashley sticks up for him, trying to get arsenal to hold onto him but this will surely not help his friendship or his relationship with the head gunner.
i think he deserves a second chance, hopefully he becomes smarter, i see him being shown the door at highbury and hopefully a solid epl team picks him up so he can get regular 1st team football and prove himself.
stupid stupid jermaine.
my two cents

He didn't insult Arsenal. Nothing he said was inflammatory on this board. And if he said something inflammatory against you nobody would give a sh!t because you're not an Arsenal supporter.
Time to get the paper and crayons out...
We are approaching a crucial game for both teams. There have been problems with "trolling", abuse and general wind-ups between our supporters. The mods and everyone else do not want this to occur again and they will therefore be trying to prevent anything which could cause this. The post in question is highly inflammatory against Man Utd and, due to the upcoming game and general rivalry, Man Utd fans will be on this board. Hence they might respond to it in a negative manner and that is what everyone is trying to prevent. Therefore it should be removed as it could be the catalyst for some troll fun and it serves no purpose in this thread. I thank you.

Drink driving has got a particulary nasty reputation in England these days, and you only need to go back a generation for it to be 'standard' behaviour. Now there are regular pieces in the papers about drunk drivers getting too short sentences. And to be fair the fan that Eric Cantonese Cantona smacked was a nasty piece of work and deserved it. Is that assault worse than drink driving ? I don't know. Pennant will go because he's not learnt discipline and he's been stupid, and he's lacking that ultimate commitment that makes the difference between a talented gifted player and a star. It's a real shame...

Hey everone, its Doctor Phil!
Its also the same person who got tossed off the Politics Board (and that's daaaaaamn hard to do, folks) for blaming the Russiah school hostage fiasco on........the hostage school children.
Thank you, captain calm.
But the sad fact is that you're allowed to say stupid stuff about the opposition on your own boards. That's why they're YOUR boards. FatherTed just posted his rather, ahem, unpleasant (to me) view of what the next Chelsea ManUtd game will be like. Its his board, so he can do that. If you're not mature enough to be able to handle that, I suggest not visiting other boards.

Why don't you leave the moderating to the moderators? The only inflammatory thing on this thread, and this board for that matter, is you. And I am inflamed with anger because you are here...RARGH!

I am watching this thread, and would rather that was not bought up in the Arsenal forum. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to go to the politics board and then have a search around the date of the siege. What was said, was siad. Many disagreed, including me - but this is not a "Drown Teso in public shame thread" hence I don't want it bought up.
On the side of the post that has started this. This IS the Arsenal board as many have rightly pointed out. The point of having your own boards is being able to have a go at the various rivals in peace. Post stays. We are still a week away.......

With respect to Rick, I'll stop having a go at Teso, and will only post this (http://67.18.212.126/forum/showpost.php?p=3146033&postcount=276) which should take you to the thread. As I've provided the post, please do me the favor of not continuing that discussion here. Otherwise, Rick, feel free to delete this post. (Or you can feel free to delete it if you didn't want me to post the link.)

I have no objections to nice posting that link. In fact, I would like to provide another to that thread. I feel that these two links fully summarise my opinions on the subject in question. http://67.18.212.126/forum/showpost.php?p=3149533&postcount=330
Now let's draw a line under this here and get back to the topic.

There's a famous old Russian communism joke. A Russian is visiting his American friend, and they're walking around in DC. The American says,
"You see, we have such a wonderful country. Watch what I can do."
And with that, he goes up to the White House and yells "the President of the United States sucks!"
"Sure," says the Russian, but we've got that too.
"Under Communism? No you don't!" responds the American.
So the Russian invites the American back to Moscow. And as they're walking by the Kremlin, he turns to his American friend and says that he'll prove Russia has the same freedom of speech, and yells:
"The President of the United States sucks!"

"You hear right"!! And probably never to return. He was treading a thin wire anyway, and AW "50 - 50" on giving him a new contract. I think he has driven up a one way street on that subject now.
A good player for Leeds, and maybe Birmingham, but I have always felt not quite "Arsenal material" in comparison to Ljunberg, Pires, etc. and they are the type of players he was trying to displace.
He would need to go "up a gear", and not into a lamp post to drive by those guys. Not the image Arsenal want to project.
VP what a player
