Chelsea will not sign the King of the Chavs, which I think is good news.

"What the devil is a Galactico anyway? The image comes from the social lives, and fame the players have achieved. It is those Galacticos that I distrust."

Jose is a sensible geezer, we don't need King Chav Beckham (and Queen Posh of the chavs), a great player, but not what we need.

Gerrard is about the only player that I'd like to see Chelsea buy.

"I prefer players like Didier Drogba and Paul Ferreira"

I know what he means, but the amount you guys paid for Drogba is a Galactico-like price.

True enough, but he's a forward, you kind of expect them to be expensive when moving to big clubs.
The most stunning one for me over the summer was the price we paid for a full back.

Mourinho said: "All you need is a strong group of players - you don't need a Hollywood star.

**I really like Jose's attitude.**

It seems Beckham wants to return to London, but neither Chelsea or Arsenal are interested. I wonder if he will end up with the Sperz? :D

Call it the "Chelsea tax".

Then "Marseille and Porto tax", then "insert relevant club here tax"...

It is great to see Jose publically having a dig a Real Madrid's set of overpaid wasters. As for Beckham, I feel very, very sorry for whatever club eventually gets stuck with him.

Just as long as you never feel sorry for his penis...

Chelsea will not sign the King of the Chavs,
What's a chav? When I was a kid in the 60's we used to use the word to mean simply a person in the same way that Americans use 'guy' maybe.

Have I missed a 'movement of social significance' again - probably dreamt up by yet another self appointed 'expert' on society and it's mores?

Yeah, well... there's a few things I'm a bit fuzzy on.

The 1980's... the 1990's - that sort of thing.

Oh, well, there has been some trouble in the middle east, communism has ended in the soviet union, china is our economic friend, the rolling stones are still totally embarrasing, thatcher is now proven to be barking mad (some of us knew this all along ;) ), America has "elected" Emperor Bush II for a second term, Reagan went stupid and died, the pope is still alive, Castro is still in power, oh, loads of other stuff and the Chavs are taking over the world. . .

Yeah, actually I caught some of those myself. Bloody shame about that Titanic though isn't it.
