Well, after we win the FA cup and the Champions League.. perhaps that will take the bite out of chavski big victory winning the league this year..
money does buy you everything, this is true... but not this year...
hope they enjoy the league, i know its been 50 years.. but hell, we've done the league before, ,im sure they will enjoy it..

it is absolutely stunning how we manage to contend for trophies with a zero budget and non-competitor in the transfer market...
GOD I LOVE ARSENAL!!!!!!!!! :D

I know isn't it fantastic. It shocks me everyday. I will be thrilled if we hoist anything besides the Carling Cup this season.

We probibly wont win the league this year, but I would still like to thrash Chavski at when we face them at Stanford Bridge. A thrashing would send them the message that class is something that cannot be bought. Chelsea have money to buy whoever they want, but they dont have any class.

I think we have quite a good chance of getting the FA cup and it is certainly our best bet for winning something this year.

The CL is always a problem it seems, but if we can get some of our guys healthy, bring in some cover at center def and mid, and fix our set piece defense issue, we'll have a decent shot. I like our chances against any of the EPL teams but I also think that we'd do fine against many of the others left in the CL. There are quite a few top teams in europe that have been having consistency issues so a decent run of form could get us over the hump.

Bayern Munich is playing well after starting the season with some problems but their away form isn't all that great in Germany or Europe so we can get past them if we make the most our chances at home. I'm hoping for a nice Kahn howler or two and Jens in top form. Bayer Leverkusen have been horrible away from home in Germany this year and did little to impress at either of their away draws to Roma or R.Madrid. Werder Bremen are pretty inconsistent, have had internal spats lately, and plenty of injuries. I wouldn't mind playing any of the German teams as long as AW fixes our defensive set pieces.

We've shown that we can handle PSV over a home/away series. Monaco are looking fairly good in France but I wouldn't mind facing them if we both progress to the next round. Everybody knows R.Madrid's problems so I won't go over them again. Porto are only still around because luck and an already through Chelsea gave them a gift on the last day. Inter can't seem to understand that it is better to win than draw. I'd like to face any of those teams in the next rounds.

There are only four teams outside of the EPL that I think we might have problems getting past: Juve, AC Milan, Barca, and Lyon. Juve started the year looking like a great bet to be in the CL final again but has started to come back to the pack a bit in Italy. Their 1-0 run in the CL even when they were at top form might mean that we shouldn't worry about them too much. However, I think they match up very well with us so lets hope they get knocked out or at least we avoid them as long as possible.

AC Milan are in good form and again a good bet to be around towards the end but they've had a few stupid draws and their very defensive away style both in Italy and CL could bite them as it did at Barca. Still I'm hoping we avoid them. Maybe Fergie could do us a favor and knock them out. Barcelona look amazing at times but they've had a run of below average games since early-mid december and you have to wonder if the injuries will catch up to them at some point. Lyon are in wonderful form and still unbeaten in France and I'd like to avoid them until the final. On the other hand, it would be nice to see Wiltord again, right? ;) Normally I wouldn't list them with the others but they seem to have that combination of luck and skill that can prove really tough to overcome in a 2 game series.

Of course none of that matters if we can't get our own form back on track. Hopefully we can start that today.

You keep saying to fix the defence??It's been months since this came up and yet with a few weeks to go until the fixture it's still an issue. They wont fix it and they will lose because of it.

Though Bayern record on away games in CL is not impressive but this year they have a pretty solid team, only lost 1 in Turin in a very even match. Juve had only 1 chance and was pressed throughout the match. So if Arsenal lost in Munich, i think you guys hardly have much chance to beat them in the 2nd leg. ;)

I have to agree with BMGuy. This year's Bayern team is not the same as last years & they are playing very well as of late. Makaay & Ballack are two very dangerous players. If we at least draw in the first game, we have a good chance of advancing.

I love the FA Cup, and in a normal year, I'd rather win the FA Cup than win the CL. All last year I thought that this year was our window to win the CL with our current crop of players and the form they had. I won't say we won't win the CL, but in current form, we won't win it. So that leaves the FA Cup. Which is the role the Cup has always played, it's always been a last gasp for many teams who've not had the season they wanted. There's always a bit of desperation, and I think that urgency is a good thing. It's why March Madness is so incredible. Win or go home. So for me, here on out, our FA Cup fixtures are the most important of all.

Arsenal need the silverware, and as you say, the FA Cup is nothing to sneeze at. These fixtures and CL should be highly important for the team.
