Hello All Spurs Fans,

I am a Hearts fan who is interested in your comments about Edson Silva who is currently on trial with our club. I appreciate that he has not played a premiership game for you since joining however if you have seen him play in any other matches I was wondering what your thoughts of him were?

Thanks in advance !!

Frank Arneson brought him over from PSV. It's said that a few years ago Silva was a great prospect at youth level, but then he had some visa problems or something and couldn't play for a couple of years which harmed his development. Frank brought him to Tottenham this summer on a 1 year contract, although Silva did not look too great in the preseason games where we've seen him play a bit.

For the reserves he's scored a few goals but is not said to have torn up any trees, hence being moved on. He's still young and a big lad, could still turn out into a decent player.

He did okay in the Spurs reserves. Therefore, he'll be a hit for Hearts in their first team :D .

The SPL is a bit rubbish.

Mmmmm....... Just so as you can be educated, Hearts have played Spurs a total of 11 times since they were founded. Hearts have lost only twice with 4 wins and 5 draws.

....And just to help you even more two of those games was in the Final of the World Club Championships (2 legs) where we beat you on aggregate over two legs (0-0 follwed by 3-1). And you probably didn't even know you were previous runners up in that competition !!!!.

Silva has now joined a club in Holland. heard it was a loan, but as he was only on a 1 year deal with us I assume he's not coming back.

I cant see him coming back. We have 8 strikers at the club (Defoe, Kanoute, Mido, Keane, El Hamdaoui, Yeates, Slabber & Barnard).

Just so you can be educated, some of the biggest stars of the SPL were useless in the EPL. Sutton, Thompson, Lennon, Hartson, Barry Ferguson....shall I go on?

Players of quality soon move on.

LOL Jumhead - whenever I hear the name John Hartson I just laugh (in fact I just did it earlier with my housemate as we were listening to something about Bellamy going to Celtic). My mate also said whenever he hears the name Hartson he always gets the image of him kicking his team-mates head in.

You have to agree though that neither Scottish football nor the Heart of Midlothian is what it used to be.

A lot of the finest footballers in the history of Tottenham Hotspur came from Scotland, and the best of them all came in fact from Hearts - Dave Mackay, the heart of the Spurs' 61 double side.

Couldn't agree more. Dave Mackay was an all time legend for both clubs and his quality stood out from all players of his generation.
