Wow, going by the article in the Independent today, Mourinho has just broken an unwritten rule. Go and read everybody. What if.......
I dont think I need to remind anybody about the 7 points lead Leeds Utd were ahaed of Arsenal in 1970-71, they still beat Arsenal in the league but look what happened? Then there was Newcastle' s lead, Arsenal's lead , Man Uts lead etc. I know what you're gonna say, Chelsea's squad and money and coach wont allow this to happen this time bla bla bla, but stranger things has happened. When you start reeling in, the momentum gets you going.
This is more about psychology, if you lose one match and dont win the next suddenly self doubt sneaks in. I say, it's not over yet. Wenger and Fergie has got the experience in this race.
Take todays opponent, Joe Jordan is a sneaky old fox. Just imagine if P'mouth gets a result today. Chelsea have not impressed me lately apart from their extremely strong defence, but if they let one in and for some reason dont get one back today.
It can happen and it will eventually happen, why not sooner rather than later? We are still in January and the champagne bottles are almost opened in Chelsea village. This could be the most potential banana skin I have ever seen. I can't wait for kick off 3pm. :)

See. I said Chelsea would win before Christmas. And Mourinho is only saying it now. Honestly. I should be the Chelsea boss. I'd get all the players going for a curry and the to Peter Stringfellows. I's be like. Right lads. I'm off with this tart. Drink as much beer as you can. We've only got a game in about 6 hours. Magic.

On the other hand, we could thump them 5-0.
Then what?

You're right, anything can happen. That's what makes football so exciting, you can have the best team in the world, but if the manager is boasting that the league is already wrapped up, then the rest of the league knows that they may just take the eye off the ball a little bit. That's where Joe Jordans arse kickers come in. They will need a bit of luck of course and some key decisions to go their way as well.
I'll say Manure and Arsenal can still do it, but we'll see. 10 min to kick off.

I don't doubt that Chelsea will win it, but it takes major cahunas to come out and say that publicly in January (if that is, indeed, what he did -- hard to tell with no link). His ego just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Sure and Robben has been fantastic in first half, such balance and ball control, unbelievable. 3-0 at half time.

Probably should have an [R] in the title, but eh, we're not Chelsea fans. Anyway, it is their title, I believe, to lose. However, look at it this way. People can complain about us not winning back-to-back titles, but if ManU win one, then we win won, then Chelsea win one, then we win another, the comes out to Arsenal - 2, Chelsea - 1, ManU - 1. And I'll take that every time.

Best Chelsea performance I've seen for a while, didn't bother watching second half, I assume Chelsea just kept knocking the ball around. Credit where credit's due. Robben was amazing.
My wife told me to stop complaining and and asked how many times Chelsea have won the league compared to Arsenal. Good point.
We must beat Newcastle tomorrow to be in it, still. If we lose, I dont think we can catch up.

Chelsea played brilliant football and that deserves respect. OK admittedly Pompey is going through a form crisis at the minute, still - credit where credit is due.

Any chance Jose will stick the pensioners out next time? That'll put the wind up Fergie!

I really don't think Mourinho is a bad manager. He's very defensive, which isn't very exciting to watch, but he's competent and gets results. Just look at his CL win with Porto to see examples of both of my points. It doesn't hurt that he has an assload of worldclass players and unlimited funds, but I wouldn't take anything away from him. The only thing that I don't like about him is that he is too arrogant for my tastes. He's the Donald Trump of the Premiership.

He has managed to create a balanced team, where as we look anything but.
Their next few league games look fairly easy, they must drop points before April when they are playing us and manure. Can teams such as Palace and Blackburn provide a change in fortune?
Meanwhile, Arsene has got a major job to sort out his own lot, in fact that worries me more than Chelsea's current form.
