Petit did a great job for us in a season where we had little in-depth quality in midfield. I seem to remember we only had Petit and Lampard who we could rely upon in midfield that season, sometimes we had Gronks performing, sometimes Le Saux was pushed into the middle, the rest of the time we were making do with De Lucas and Jody Morris. We managed to get a CL spot which was pretty remarkable all things considered.

Great player no doubt, but he did make Anderton look like the Ironman though eh?
