Oh, so you wouldn't call it "Takin' It Up The Butt Stadium"?

Everyone calls Arsenal Stadium "Highbury", just as everyone will call Emirates Stadium "Ashburton Grove", or maybe "The Grove", or maybe "Highbury" still...

Clanblue will call it the "East Stand"

When we are running around Emirates Stadium I will see us wearing blue like Chelsea, with the same sponser as Chelsea, and wonder - maybe we should have bought a place with "Bridge" in its title.

Tower bridge maybe, knock down that old castle there be plenty of room!

...so...anyone have plans to wear that outside of a game? ...its definatly a wall hanger. It might not look so horrible if they have white socks to go with the kit...but the shirt alone hurts my eyes...i might just have to become a chelsea fan, lol

I guess its a cool idea, but man is that ugly!

I would be supprised if it looks like this:

No crest, no sponsor, laced neck.

What we will probably see is a modern cut shirt, with a colar like the yellow away 3rd we got now, without the laced neck, with the current arsenal crest, and O2 slapped on the front, in the maroon we have seen

They could make it look good - funny that we only see the side just to tease us. Hope it's an older crest and possibly no sponsor, but I'm sure there will be one.

if its just a cannon it would be cool
but i think it takes a lot of work to sew and print the logo that came b4 the one we got now

I think it was hebert chapman that bought in the white sleeves to disninguish us from the likes of Liverpool and United...persoanlly Id prefer white sleeves also but I guess Ill reserve judgement till I see the finished article

Yes, you're right. Problem is, the O2 logo will spoil it.

Speaking of logos...I really wish they would use the same stuff for the sponsor as they did with the JVC shirts in the mid 90's, or use that vinyl stuff like they do on the training tops. Felt is a pain to keep clean!

Just laminate your jersey. That way the whole thing, including felt, will be stain-free and shiny :D. I just keep hoping that with the Emirates sponsorship that they use the arabic logo instead of that damn "Fly Emirates". It would look so much cleaner.

Wasn't 1913 the year they got relagated? I know it's the first year at Highbury, but the shirt represents a season that didn't go so well. Maybe they should have picked a Championship year instead of the first.

The more I look at it, the more disappointed I get. Just can't get beyond the lack of white sleeves. www.arseblog.com doesn't have kind words either.

From what I know, we were relegated the season before we started playing at Highbury, so therefore, we were already in the 2nd Division before we played a game there. Can't blame the new stadium for it.

How come no one likes the current arsenal uniforms, especially the blue one?

I like the current home. I hated it at first but it has grown on me. The blue I don't find ugly if it were for another team. But for Arsenal it just doesn't work for me. They should just stick to yellow aways.

I don't know if anyone saw the Superclasico between River and Boca but Boca has a centenary jersey for the new season. It's just a classic look with the traditional blue and yellow stripe across. No sponsor on the front like they normally have and just a tiny little Goodyear sponsor on the back right below the neck of the collar. There's no crest either except some stars on the left chest. Don't know if it said anything although I figure it just said "BOCA". I don't think there was a Nike swoosh on there either. I was hoping Arsenal would have a jersey modeled after Boca's where you just have a plain red shirt with white sleeves. Cannon on the chest and nothing else with a tiny O2 somewhere along there. Oh well.

The reason I hate the blue uniforms:

Quick...which is Arsenal? The fact that we lose in it just further convinces me that it is a horrible kit. I'm hoping that we kill it forever after this year.

I agree.

Imagine this on our traditional red/white kit:

It would look better than 99% of the sponsor's logos out there and also keep it seperate from Chelsea's uniform.

not to mention our 4 losses this season (1 CC, 3 EPL) were all in the blue!
