Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that his high-flying team are now virtually assured of winning their first Premiership title.
Mourinho's side have lost just once in the Premiership, boast a 10-point lead over Arsenal and are a further point clear of Manchester United.
"There is so much ground for the teams chasing us to make up," Mourinho told Chelsea TV.
"If it goes from 10 to 12 or 13 points then maybe it will be over."
Mourinho continued: "Could you ever imagine that with all the new players and a new coach we could be 10 clear at this stage?
"Of course 10 points is 10 points, it is better than seven and it is better than five.
"But if one day we lose a game or two points and the gap goes from 10 to seven or eight, we are ready to accept it as natural and keep going, controlling the distance."

Don't you just love them?
A repeat of Newcastle under Keegan would be nice. Well, one can live in hope.

Come now, Frank - you know better than most that the headline of the article isn't what the person really said. All Mourinho said is that its going to be really hard for anyone to catch us now. Which is obvious.

I don't think a defense that has leaked just 8 goals this season is now going to start hemoraging...unlike the defenses of Newcastle 96 and Arsenal 03. Those teams had good offense, but Manure ended up with the better defense those seasons and snatched the title away.
The best bet for Chelsea sputtering their lead away are draws and a drying up of goals. But even with Drogba and Gudjohnsen not exactly firing on all cylinders, the Blues midfield (Lampard, Robben, Duff...even Joe Cole  ) are pitching in with goals.
(and with the amount of goals Terry has scored for Chelsea, he'd be top scorer for other teams!...if the Blues can't win it this year, then when can they?!?)
<sigh> I guess its about time London had another Premiership winning club  ....as long as its not Spurs :D

Looked that way for Keegan with Newcastle too.
IMHO He should have kept such thoughts to himself and perhaps he would not get fans back up with such unneccessary remarks. Not to mention a couple of managers, names of which I cannot currently recall. ;)
Expect some nonsense from certain quarters over the closing stages of the season.
At least so far can comfort myself with the statistic of one defeat for Chelsea. Wonder which team inflicted that then? :D
Small consolation, I know.

You disprove your own statement when you use the words Keegan and Newcastle. And BTW it's not bragging if you do it. And full credit for being the only team (thus far) to take 3 points off of Chelsea.
