View Full Version : 2 questions (includes Burnley result)
I know that was a bad loss, sorry for you guys (seriously). But two questions:
(1) Did Whitbread do anything to clean the overall stink of the performance off himself? Was he at all UNaccountable (even a little)?
(2) I haven't seen Traore's blunder, but it sounds as bad as Roy Carroll's. That being the case, is it fair (why not?) to rightfully claim he shouldn't play for a long while (even though SAF decided to reinsert Roy). In other words, what's the difference between the magnitude of Traore's and Carroll's..??

Actually, no...the whole team played like absolute crap. Traore made a mistake, yea, but we should have the depth to make up for things like that...you know, by scoring things called "goals". Stop your trash talk, please, it's getting really annoying.

Put an [R] in next time, just a reminder for the ones who didn't see the game .
Traore did make a terrible mistake but as it was mentioned already should have been made up for. Terrible decision by Benitez to not see that Baros needed to come on earlier. It was a tough pitch to play on as well, the weather was terrible, that was one factor I believe but of course ,the performance was far from being worthy of Liverpool.
I actually thought Whitbread looked pretty good, compared to other players he was one that stood out among the youngsters. He stood solid in the back and cleared when it was necessary.

Well, except for the one time it was really necessary, of course. That time he duffed a tackle and allowed Chaplow to advance into the box to put the cross over that Traore turned in.
Sorry jri, I know it's vitally important to you in a way that it is for very few other human beings currently alive on this planet of ours, but nothing distinguishes Whitbread from the rest of them in terms of the general crappyness of the performance. He was neither worse nor better than the rather dreadful average.
As to Traore's blunder, it too was neither worse nor better than Carroll's (odd question, by the way) but it's consequences did of course suck rather more.

I think it was worse than Carroll’s mistake. Carroll tried to do the right thing, catch the ball with both hands. He screwed up. Traore had the option of simply kicking the ball away, but decided to try a spin move in his 5 yard box. If Traore tried to kick it away and completely missed the ball that would have been comparable to Carroll’s mistake.

No its not 'vitally important'...just thought I'd go get comments from folks who may have been at the game or seen it live.
But then again, you have to go be a jerk...

I realize we just got knocked out of the Cup and we didn't play well, but do you ever have anything positive to say at all. I'm guessing you're one of those "glasses half empty" kinda guys. Am I right?
