Interesting tidbits from cfc story:

“The two centre-backs, John Terry and William Gallas, who’ve played together a lot this season and haven’t conceded any goals. ..."

(as many wise posters have said, :D that is the best combo, hopefully Bridge gets in JM's good graces so Gallas an PF can stay where they play their best. )

Chelsea today became the first club to have won six games on the spin with clean sheets since the new league was set up.

( not bad during our blip over the holidays and ventures up north  )

Well it'll be nice to pad our lead in the next two matches. ManU (who seems to have the upper hand for 2nd) plays Villa and Arsenal in the next two. Arsenal's got Newcastle and ManU. Then we have some tough tests away to Everton and at home to Man City.

I see another clean sheet with Drogba scoring 1 and that's it. A 1-0 game is all we need. MANU will win 2-0 and Arse will tie NUFC. If Drogba doesn't start playing well soon, i don't see a point in staring him over Eidur. I am not the one to bash Drogba, but it looks to me like he is not giving 100% and that bothers me.

Interest comments on Drogba. For me, Chelsea changes the way they play with Drogba up front, playing too many long balls in the air to try to take advantage of his heading ability. When the Iceman is in the play much more on the ground and he can play the ball of to Duffer or Robben much better as he has the ability to hold the ball and wait for their runs.

Would you then say, Eidur style fits better with Chelsea attacking game? I mean, we don't have Adriano or Sheva who can be the absolute striker, so we depend on our middfiled and our wingers to produce our goals. That said, i can still see how valuable Drogba can be on set pieces, but apart from that, he still has a lot to prove. He is nowhere near the shape he was when he played for Marseille.

I would have agreed with this statement about Drogs maybe 3 or so games back, but I think he's been good lately. That brings up another point however - consistency. I don't think Drogs has it right now, but damn he's exciting to watch when he's in form and flying!

When Drogs is playing his best, he really makes Eidur look like a lazy slug out there. And I'm beginning to get an ulcer from the Iceman's required "absolutely a goal and missing it" bit.

Actually, it's the offsides that bother me about Eidur. It's like he doesn't know the rules or thinks that they don't apply to him. He probably has the most offsedes/min than any other player in the EPL.

On a ligher note, i ws looking at our Avatars and for fun, we should assign all Chelsea fans on this board to have an Avatar of a player from Chelsea FC, so then when we look through posts, it will be like watching the whole Chelsea team speaking out. :D

I think my current avatar denotes my style of posting better than a pic of, say, Robben would.

Excellant point. I'd like to think I'm a metrosexual version of JT, in the way that I post. ;)

I could put a chelsea jersey on Strongbad during the offseason but that's as far as I can deviate.

And now for something completly different:

To settle the school yard spat between the next two teams beyond the gap the FA, between nooners and pints, have assigned Grahm Poll to oversee the match without controversy.

(actually I thought he did a fair job last match, we were certainly entitled to at least one penelty, though the third may have been the clearest)

While possibly true, it would make the forum look really confusing to read. I grow used to people's avatars.

Once I got a career and business cards, I realized I was old. I was wondering how long it would take everyone else to catch on.
Although, I believe I'm the second youngest employee at my firm, despite that. :)
