Hey y'all. Does anyone have a ringtone on their cell? If so, what song? Is it a mono, poly, or a true tone?

Or do you think they are a waste of money?

I personally am rocking SRV's "Lenny"-truetone.

Just got the Nextel i860 camera-phone, that's supposed to be MP3-compatible. Thing is, Nextel wants you to be able to download only their ring tones from their site. I've got a data cable and have found some hacks in order to upload some from my computer, but it still blows that there isn't alot of ringtones or wallpapers out there available to download if you have Nextel....

One of the sites I found is pretty funny though:

i've had the same cell phone for, oh, i don't know, 4 or 5 years, some cheap motorola shyte.
i hate cell phones, i hate people who waste their time on them "what are you doing saturday, what are you doing now? how about five minutes ago?"
while driving, on the train yelling about your business and not real business but stupid whacha-doing business,

ringer tones are...are...unneccessarily wimpy...

leave me the fucq alone with your crap.
tell me the lazy slob who invented this b/c he couldn't go down to the street corner and drop a couple of dimes to call his girl.

Do you each pay for these ringtones or are they free? I won't pay a cell phone company a damn nickel for ringtones. They should come with the phone. (especially since it usually costs a couple of C-notes).

I use Cake's "No Phone" as my ringtone.

On another note though, I can stand those jamster ads on Sci-fi, Comedy Central etc.

On my Motorola A1000, my ringtone is Das Modell by Kraftwerk and Told You Once by The Mr. T Experience is my message tune.

On my Nokia, I have a polyphonic of the victory song from Final Fantasy II as my ringtone, and the tune from when Mario jumps on the flag in Super Mario 1 as my message tune.

I'm hoping when/if Motorola comes out with the iPhone, you'll be able to use your own music as ring tones. If that's the case, I'm switching from Sprint.

I just hate it when i'm sitting there and the guy's phone next to me starts up.

N(___)s wanna f(___)k with my playas...b(____)s wanna f(___)k with my h(__)s. Or whatever the latest song is. Especially when it's in class.

And I HATE those nextel radios. I don't wanna hear your entire conversation. It has the privacy option, eh? USE IT. I don't really see what the advantage is over calling them straight.

Fair enough....But let me ask why you are asking to be left the eff alone when no one asked you to come from behind the rock you were so quietly hiding behind.....

No way that would ever happen...The artists are actually getting paid just as well as the carriers are. Ringtones, and next up Ring backs (a $400 million industry in Japan since 2002), are big bucks for musicians and music publishers.
