Newcastle United's box office has recieved hundreds of calls this week from fans asking about the 3rd round replay game between Exeter and Manchester United this week.
Newcastle United PLC would like to remind fans that the game is taking place at Exeter FC, St James Park and not in Newcastle at St James Park, the NUFC box office has no information about the game. Persons are advised to contact respective clubs or the FA for further information. We are also advised anyone wrongly booking accomodation in the city will be fully refunded.
And from the Tourism NE site

Major hotel chains in Newcastle are reporting fully booked rooms over the midweek period. Jurys, Hilton, Travel Inn, Quality, Holiday Express and Travelodge are reporting peak business...but with worrying results. The Jurys Inn, in Newcastle's Triangle district reported a 135 strong party booking from Chelmsford, the booking was for Manchester United fans eager to see their team in action at St James Park, little knowing that the game is taking place at Exeter City's SJP, hundreds of miles in Devon. Hotel groups across the city ve confirmed similar bookings and they will be offering refunds to anyone caught up in the mistake
