Btw - Is there any other team in the EPL that has a team captain that is a product of their youth system?

My memory is fuzzy here, as I was only like 6 years old, but Tony Adams was with us from a very young age. I dont know if he came out of a youth scheme or not though - ashamedly im not a walking Arsenal encyclopedia :)

I'm not for sure, however, Steven Gerrard probably fills the bill.

Forgive me if im being a bit dim here Mr Terry, but the only way Chelsea would deserve the title, is if they had more points than anyone else.
If Chelsea HAVE more points than anyone else come May, then they deserve the title. If they have less points then they don't. If there were marks for effort then Everton would already be way in front you know.
Ok that probably isnt gone come accross as i meant it to, but im too tired to correct it now. Ill wait and see if anyone shoots me down and rephrase as needed :D

All teams make an effort and i'm sure all want to win badly and try their best and train hard. What separeate those teams with champions is it's not enough to want to win, it is knowing how and doing it. Everton seem like they have more effort than others is b/c noone expected them to do so well w/ the departure of Shrek. If it was Crystal Palalce or Norwich in the 4th spot, people would say those teams produce the most effort.
Whatever Dave M. Nice game v. Bolton today.

See. John Terry has just went up 110% in my book. Because i would have played for NUFC for nothing. Jose Mourinho and John Terry. Thats it. I hate Cockney bastards. Well. Except two sunbeams.

Has anybody reading what the Arsenal posters are saying about Chelsea?
Apparently we are 10 points clear because we are lucky. I have never ever read such petulant drivel. All their toys are being thrown out of the pram. It is a pathetic. I really do pity them. They are showing a complete lack of any dignity whatsoever. They should be embarrassed by some of the things they are saying.
<o =""></o>I am beginning to agree with Sir Red Face:
<o =""></o>Arsenal are the worst losers of all time, they don't know how to lose
<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]-->
Sir Alex Ferguson
<o =""></o> I think some of the arsenal lads should have a closer look at their behaviour and what they are saying. In my day, win or lose you came off the pitch, you shook your opponents hand and you had a pint together. This is a mans game and there is no place for whinging brats and cry babies. Arsenal, show some fecking dignity for Crissakes.

Terry supported United as a kid though.
Also Ledley King is a product of the Spurs youth system.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge that is how it works. Do you expect an award for stating the bleeding obvious? :D

Ah yes, god bless.
But, you've got to remember mate, just about all of them jumped on board in the past (very) few years and have been 'lucky' enough to have seen a very good team. They can't help it, they just don't have a clue as to what was going on before that.
If you were to point out to some of them that we were thumping them on a regular basis over the years, they'd be looking through the past seasons results from the late 90's and wondering what you were on about ;)
It's the way of it i suppose, i think they can't come to terms with what is the inevitable 'cycle' in football. All good sides go through turnover and have their time at the top, only to be replaced by somebody else.Resentmenst is, naturally, the outcome of it.
And, there can be no doubt, that we are currently the best team in England and probably Europe for that matter as well.
It must really be choking them.At least, i'm hoping it is, that would make me feel very good indeed.
The more drivel i see from them the more i laugh, comments like having no history, not winning anything, not ever being a challenge for anything, just goes to show how little they know about the history of the English game in general and the club in particular.Fair shout, we;ve always underachieved, haven't won as much as we should, but, apart from a rather poor period from the mid 70's to the mid 90's, we've always been up there in the challenge. To state otherwise, is laughable, makes me crack up at their posts and proves to me (yet again) that they really don't have a clue.
I have noticed though, that it's usually the overseas 'fans' that come out with this knowledge, as the English based fans, for the most part, have had the history of the game thought to them from early youth.
The period of relegation, promotion, struggle, relegation and nearly going out of existance, is the period thay all harp on about. It's an age thing i suppose, most of them being middle aged and remembering it as it actually happened, and then of course, there's the younger ones that have read about it and think that thats how it always was.
If you notice, i don't bother replying to those types of posts...words like "an afterthought for the past 50 years'..they only come from ignorance of things and show how long they've been following the game in general and that team in particular.
To reply to such posts, just brings one down to that level of knowing nothing about what went on in past season.
But, then again, for the majority of those on the Arsenal board, football only began around 1997.
I find it best to ignore the ignorance and just laugh at their posts.
