My second favourite album, and yes great for a party. tracks like award tour, we can get down and electric relaxation are great for party atmospheres.

I'm recommending James Brown's "Get Up Offa that Thang, Part 1", especially if people are sittin' on that thang and not movin'.
Other, newer stuff:

Depends on the type of party and people you're havin' over. If you want hoppin' parties then use the popular stuff suggested. When I throw parties and don't feel like doing turntable work, I just pop in several customized comps. But...
Me and some of my buddies spin tunes - some professionally, others for fun (me). But when it's us throwing a bash for another one of us, that's when we break out the Breaks, etc. and just have a blast taking turns on the tables... bringing our own record bags. Always a good time. I'm talking about old school... some LL Cool J, Kool Moe Dee... some cheesy cuts off of Breakin II - Electric Boogaloo or Krush Groove, maybe some New Edition even - you name it, one of us has got it. And then, of course I'll mix some more recent broken beats and bossa... Soulstance, the Bugz, 4 Hero, Kerri Chandler, Kenny Dope, Nathan Haines, Modaji, Buscemi, Restless Soul and the like... along with house cuts. Not talking about throbbing techno. Always keeps things moving - anything with soul. And these are people are black and white, guys and girls... and end up asking.. "who is that?" Gotta say, it's a good way to get girl's numbers... they have a legitimate reason to talk to my pitiful self and I actually can talk to them about a subject where i actually know what I'm talking about and sound 'intelligent'... a rarity indeed! :D But admittedly this probably isn't a style for all crowds (musicaly).
But popular stuff, Tribe is good. People seem to dig 50 cent, Outkast, etc. whenever they're being played. No idea really about current pop stuff. And "Black Eyed Peas" I think is one people like. Dirty Vegas has a new one out, but a buddy said he didn't like it so much. But hey, it still might be good.
For what's 'new' and ahead in some more global scenes, check juno.co.uk or tunes.co.uk. As for downloads, you're on your own.
Don't forget 'Groove Is In The Heart' by Deeeeeeeeeeeeelite.
