As we've seen, the negotiations between the players and the Fed have continued to go nowhere.

In order to at least try to raise some consciousness and hopefully avoid an NHL-like experience, some US fans have put a petition together aimed equally at both sides.

Please, think on this issue and if you are so moved, sign the petitions.

Rather than closing one thread or the other, I'm merging them instead.

And yes, I've voted.

Not trying to be a dick here . . .

But when has an online petition ever been viewed as anything but a bunch of net geeks whining about something?

It's a serious form of public commentary...
if you're a net geek.

So what? Do you have a better option? This may not be incredibly effective, but I don't see any other options.

Honestly, some form of display at the draft, the televised portion of the draft, would be a much better way to make some sort of statement.

Well, if you fax it over a few times a day to the offices of the people you're trying to get the attenion of, they get the message.

:D

But let's hope they mic the crowd at the draft.
