Twenty20 is a great new concept, and I hope it's played more often, both at state level and international level.

Australia open their New Zealand tour next month with a twenty20 match against the Kiwis.

Reminds me very much of indoor cricket (in nets) - slog & run.

IMHO it does no bloody good to one's correct batting technique.

I'll wait & see, but it does threaten some of the more valuable skills of cricket.

I haven't been to a Twenty20 game, but from what I've seen on TV it looks like a fun evening out. I'm hoping to get a game or two this Summer as my girlfriend lives five minutes from Essex's Chelmsford ground.

Aussies killed NZ tonight in the Twenty20
Ponting was extremely exciting at around the 18th-19th overs and he even hit 30 from one over

Ponting's 98 not out off just 55 balls was amazing batting, hitting the ball to all parts of the ground. He hit one six which hit the absolute top of the stand and bounced back! McGrath was funny too when he pretended to bowl an underarm delivery, just like the infamous one Trevor Chappell bowled 24 years ago! The teams wore replicas of the old one day uniforms worn when World Series Cricket first started which was good.

happily i was still in australia (my last night) and was able to watch it live at the local RSL. honestly, those who did watch it- you have to admit it was pretty fun and exciting.

HA! i was in australia visiting family, but i'd like to say i went there to watch live cricket matches :)

Ponting wrote an article on his reaction to the match and 20/20 in general. some points he mentions are
-20/20 is a good way to start a tour
-domestically, is would be good as a preseason tourny with double headers. says it would not be feasibly for a team like Tas going to WA for only a 3 hr game. (hey, they do it in baseball).

20/20 is certainly very interesting and exciting and kind of spices up the game again

but they are saying if they keep playing it, the 50 over game will suffer

but i think they are right
people prefer to have a day out at the cricket
