Rita wants to bury his remains in Ethopia, his "spiritual resting place." (http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Music/01/12/marley.ethiopia.ap/index.html)

While I initially don't have a problem with it, I think I would disagree with Rita's statement that his whole life was about Ethiopia and not Jamaica. I've spent alot of time in Jamaica and been a big fan of his since his early days. His whole mission to bring the two political parties in Jamaica to have an open discourse almost cost him his life at the time. Bob loved Jamaica and was proud to be Jamaican.

And here I thought this was about a new duet album by Ziggy and Wyclef.

I never realized that Rastafarians worship Haille Sellaise as a god. I mean, he was a good man...but still...a GOD???

She couldn't have thought of this twenty-odd years ago?

I was thinking of a new box set, but yours is better. :)

He apparently had the stigmata...where one bleeds from the hands and feet in the same areas that Jesus was nailed to the cross.

Yeah but the thing is he lived his life based on his faith. And Ethiopia is a very big corner stone of the Rastafarian faith.

Yeah and even more unusual is the fact that Haile Selassie was a very devote memeber of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church who never fully understood the whole thing, he never awknowledged thier worship and found it all very unsettling.

There are also legends (tall tales?) about Ras Tafari having the complete awareness of an adult at 40 days, starting on the day of his baptism.
