Rodeo in Salem gets unexpected song rendition
A man purportedly from Kazakhstan launched into a diatribe instead of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

A "bad saturday night live episode"?
No no no no.
Better than anything SNL could do.

Man, that guy has some serious cojones. "And your ho-o-o-ome... in the-e-e-e-e... gra-a-a-a-a-a-a-ave!" -- at a rodeo? In western Virginia?
He's just lucky that the Salem Gun Show and Sale (http://www.salemciviccenter.com/) is at the end of this month, and not the beginning.

God, I can't believe he can still do this. I guess that's why he's on premium cable.

Some people in the audience had to recognize him. But it's not like those people can inform the couple thousand other people in the arena that it's a joke while the joke is happening. And from Sasha/Ali G/Borat's perspective, as long as they got audio of booing and some close-up shots of perplexed and angry rodeo fans, the bit will turn out great.

I guess you're right. If they did Funkyzeit Mit Bruno's Gay Alabama segment again, I imagine most of the college kids would be cheering him, but they just need a few seconds of people taunting him, and one player to be really, really uncomfortable.
Still, I can't believe the article describes him as a "Middle Eastern" looking. Don't they know Kazakhstan is in Central Asia?
Slate did a piece on how Ali G dupes famous people who should know better: http://www.slate.com/id/2106886/

That's awesome. My favorite is "Throw the Jew down the well" when all the hicks actually sang along with him.

There are cowboys in Virginia, what the ********?
I too hope W. gets to drink the blood of every Iraqi man, woman, and child.
My uncle who is a moderately prominent photographer was shooting a protest in DC when he noticed Ali G and his film crew. Apparently they really didn't want him to take Ali G's picture and my uncle said that he understood why and he wouldn't publish it or sell it.

He won't even let people take pictures of him out of costume as a friend of mine ran into him in NYC and they talked and he was a nice guy but wouldn't let them take a picture with him.
But this is just brilliant. Like when the Chinese news agency ran an "article" from The Onion thinking it was real.

That's why he had to go over to the USA. After a couple years doing it in England, everyone and their cat knew who he was.
Maybe Australia next?

Wasn't Ali the only character in the UK version of the show, tho? IIRC it didn't have Borat or Bruno.

He did Borat in the UK. My old roommate bought a video off eBay, and Borat was doing a lot of the same things, visiting upper crust type folks and learning to date.
I believe Funkyzeit Mit Burno is new for HBO.

I bet the ones that recognized him would be fans of the show anyway so there would be no reason to inform the rest of the crowd. They were fortuante to witness a live "ALI G" show. I would love to be present at one of his pranks.

Was that the pro life deal where he pissed off that priest and was doing the human beat box with those chicks singing "We shall overcome"?
He asked the priest is he was shooting blanks or just couldn't get it up because the priest had never been responsible for an abortion.
That was absolutely hilarious! ROTFLMAO

Rep given.
And I can't figure out if this one is serious or a really amazing parody:
People who make jokes about our country and ANY of our leaders need to be censored and silenced, and their content does not neet to be allowed on TV, radio, in newspapers, or in any other media. How can any other country have respect for us when we bash ourselves like that? That's insane and it makes me UNproud to be an American. No wonder so many countries hate us. We're nothing but a joke to them because that's what we make ourselves out to be. People like this "Ali G" need to be silenced. What about freedom of speech, you say? Why do they bleep out cusswords on the radio? Because it's not appropriate. Why do they refrain from using the "f" word on TV? Because it's not appropriate. Why do they put censor bars on naked parts? Becaues it's not appropriate. Some things are just not appropriate to be broadcasted out on the media, and content like "Ali G's" is something that should ALWAYS be silenced and not allowed, just like cusswords are bleeped on the radio. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but this kind of behavior is not acceptable, and if you think it is, then you should take that "Proud to be an American" bumper sticker off your SUV.
