Everton visit 6th place Middlesboro this Sunday in a key match.

A Toffee win, and we'll lead Boro by 11 pts in the standings. A loss, and we'll be only 5 pts ahead.

In another game of interest, the Red Shiite host ManUtd on Saturday.

Now, I'm not one to normally route for United, but in this case,

Go Red Devils, beat the sh!t out of the Shiite!

I hope we beat Boro but also wouldn't mind getting a point.

I putting Fat Boy Manc down for the first and last goal at Analfield on Saturday. Might even put a couple a quid on him getting booked/sent off. I don't think the RS fans will give him a nice warm welcome back to Merseyside.

I also hope Manure win too.

i was thinking you might want to hope both end in draws and go back to looking to gain ground on people next week

Nar I hope The RS always get beat even if it means Manure going a head of us (which I always knew would happen) we are playing for 4th place lets hope we stay there. If Manure slip up we will be right behind them all the way

As far as I can tell, there's no meaningful difference between finishing 3rd or 4th, since both will earn you a spot in the qualifying round of next season's Champion's League.

You're right 3rd n 4th are the same in European terms but 3rd sounds so much better than 4th! I would be happy enough with a draw at the Riverside, Anything but a lose away from home is a good result. Especially against Boro! Hopefully we can put all this Gravesen BS out of the way and concentrate on the task in hand.

So who's going to start in Gravs place? How much might this change our lineup?

Maybe we can come out inspired and unite together even more. Maybe this was why Gravs didn't start against Plymouth? A chance to see the team work together this way....

With Beattie, we've switched to a 4-4-2, so probably Kilbane, Carsley, Osman and McFadden.

This game is going to be ugly. Those who were waiting for our mid to bottom table slide are going to relish this.

Such pessimism!!

I started following the Blues in 2000 when the team were shite and Archie Knox was knocking the guys around at Bellefield...literally. This team won't slide, Moyes won't let them.

Since Moyes arrived, we've seen some of the better (imho) football from these guys in YEARS! Without Moyes we'd be in deep pooh or the Coca-Cola Championship (some may think it's the same place). I can't imagine anyone else would have been able to get these 14-15 guys  to 4th place!!

So, COME ON YOU BLUES!! Put this Gravesen business behind you and let's show 'Boro and the rest of the Premiership what we're capable of!

haha, Moyes won't let them. Didn't we finish in 17th last year? And pessimism works for me. It has worked all season! :D

Touche.

Good point, well made....however, Moyes doesn't have the added distraction of Master Rooney (like last year) and most of our players are out of contract at the end of this season. I'd say they're all playing for an extension or for a contract away from EFC...so they will play out of their skin in order to get the most $$ possible (at Everton or elsewhere).

(PS: What's this 'busy signal' shite? It's frustrating when you're trying to reply to someone!)

No Gravesen for you and Boateng for us, should see a really open fare in midfield. Two really influential midfielders.
