Am I the only one on Big Soccer that watches this show?
I hated small ville when the show started but after going half a year without Cable team I got hooked. Now its the third season and its getting better and better. Does anyone like this show? Hate it? Post your thoughts on the show here, I want to know how my fellow Big Soccer posters feel about the show.

I still watch it, but it is not as good this year as previous years. Lost is much better -- if it wasn't for the dual-tuner DirecTV/Tivo I would have given up on Smallville this year.
Lana is boring, the show just drags to a standstill whenever she is on the screen. The Lex/Lionel interaction makes the show worthwhile.

If it was just about lex Luthor (and Lionel) then it would be one of the best shows on TV, the critics would like it and it would have been cancelled by now.
The Clark Kent/Lana Lang thing drags it into Dawsons Creek terrertory.
It's almost like two different shows, the lex stories are dark and well written and then 5 minutes later it turns into a teen soap.
I especially liked when they brought that kid back from the dead using Clark's blood. That storyline lasted 4 or 5 weeks. It was a lot better than when they'd just introduce a new meteor induced monster and the kids would sole the crime because the police were too stupid to.
Edit: I should add that I am a huge comic book fan and I appreciate alot of the little subtle DC comic references they put in the show. The episode with 'The Flash' bothered me though because while they referenced Barry Allen, Jay Garrick and Wally West....they used the Flash from the future (Bart Allen) who would not be alive while Smallvile is happening, furthermore Bart Allen is a relative of former Flash's and not some juvenile delinquent who is just learning to use his powers. Picky I know, but as a fan of The Flash it bothered me.

I watched it into last season, but it lost out to other shows and I haven't really gotten back into it.

I started watching it when I noticed my little brother was a fan. After realizing it was only because he has a crush on Kristin Kreuk, I realized my brother isn't gay and has fine taste. Seriously though, I watched the first season and a couple into the second. The show just seemed to drag on from there and got a bit too much for me. I think Tom Welling is pretty stiff and dull. That and I just wanna see the bastard fly.

he did fly in one episode where he was in a trance and became krypton's Kal-El as opposed to Clark Kent. It was pretty cool actually, it was alot like the matrix, they sped down the film and there was a weird ripple on the ground and then they sped up the film real fast and he rocketed into the sky.
Then he became Clark Kent again and he didn't know how to fly.
Which is another inconsistency with the Superman story. Jor-El (the biological father of superman) is not evil and overbearing like the one on Smallville. Though red kryptonite does in fact make Superman loopy, there is no personality shifts between Kal-El and Clark Kent, they are the same person.

yeah come to think of it, it was the seasom premier. The hot blonde came posing as a survivor from krypton to take Clark, er, Kal El back to Jor El.
that whole storyline started off cool because everyone died.....only to find out that they all lived, which was stupid. Chloe should have died at least.
There's a bigsoccer member whose username is Kal-El with a Superman avatar. I wonder what he thinks about the show.
Oh and Neo you missed the season premier twice, they re-ran a couple weeks ago.

I watch it most of the time and bittorrent the ones I miss. Don't really like it as much as I used to, but I'll keep watching it. Like the others said, Lana is starting to annoy me. The Lionel/Lex stuff is interesting though. The Smallville as X-files type shows were good when there was the radiated villain of the week but that gets old. The Clarke finds a new power episodes were also ok but gets old as well. Louis Lane is okay I guess, she needs to be on more. Looks like this season they're dragging out the future heros and villians. The Flash episode with the "Maybe start, like, a club or a league or something" line was kinda hokey but I liked it. The MXYZPTLK episode was sorta like that too.

What was that "S" logo thing burned onto his chest? I know it's supposed to replicate the Superman shield, but that thing just made me not wanna watch altogether. Is it true to the comics? Looks like his intestines popped out over his sternum and formed a stupid shape.
My favorite episode is when Lana strips and jumps into the pool. Damn she's hot.

Yeah but that was a body double I believe...not like there was anything wrong with the body double though :D

I forgot about that. The real Mxpyzptlk looks nothing like that guy from the show and he is much more powerful than they made him on the show.
Just another thing I get irritated with but no one else cares about.
In the comics if you want to send him back to his galaxy you have to say his name backwards....or you have to make him say it backwards......wait, i forget which it is....I got to go look it up.
It's cool they bring these people into the show but it sucks that they mess up their characters.
Why is Lois Lane on the show at all yet?
And no, Superman does not have a red "S" burned into his body in the comics. His earth Father (kent) thought of the "S" and the Superman persona.

it makes for better tv to give the s a (seemingly) better reason... that really doesn't bother me... you can't have everything true to the comics
and you have to get the guy to say his name backwards
isn't this the fourth season?? at least

I don't usually watch a series until it reaches it's 3rd season at least...
It helps so you don't get hooked on a really good show that the network ends up cancelling... (ie. Sportsnight, etc.)
So I TIVO'd the pilot of Smallville on Saturday from the Family Channel and have, through repeats, a chance to catch up very quickly...

It's a guilty pleasure for me. However, I haven't seen too many episodes this season.

Yeah, I dig this show. One of the only shows I watch these days.

I agree with you Te... erm.. Vin... erm... bicy... erm... han... erm... Microwave. lol. Seriously, it was stupid that everyone died and came back. I was almost expecting Pete to bop back into the episode with a grin on his face saying that the town he was moving too went up in flames and he was stuck in Smallville.

Pardon the ignorance... but what was the "MXYZPTLK" episode?
Yeah, the 'league' thing was pretty funny though. I like the show, but agree with the others - Lana is a real scene killer. And that's not in the good way anymore. Everything just stops and is slow. Lex is easily the most dynamic character IMO. The girl playing Lois Lane is hot as hell. She should be on WAY more.
I think the chick that will be on the next show when it starts up again - the one where they supposedly get married - is that hot obsessed chick from last season that had to be locked in a steel room, etc... the chick that was allergic to the color red or something?

He was the Eastern European exchange student who was Smallville High's biggest bookie, and he could "influence" events with his mind. Exactly nothing in common with the comics beyond the name.

He moved away to live with His Mom in "Grandville." They just wrote him off the show. Maybe he will come back some day. The only thing that bothered me about Pete was that he looked so much younger then everyone elese in the show. He looked like the only High School kid at Smallville high.
