Though I'm not usually a fan of collars, I actually like the idea of it for the last year at Highbury. If they can successfully meld some old elements with the new, that would be fantastic.
The shirt Mad put up is a bit busy, but the right elements are there. There would need to be some weeding of logos/symbols for sure...

It still kills me that all Nike kits are exactly the same.
Yeah, but so are every other comapny. Adidas ones are all the same. Diadora made the same shirt for AS Roma as they did for Leeds United. It does suck that Nike only has like 2 or 3 variations to their jerseys; I'm not disagreeing with you on that. But look around at other comapny's and see how different their shirts are. They all look the same to me.
The mock-up shirt has some potential. Too busy up top though. I hope they only stick with one logo (AFC one).

I was told by the owner of a local soccer shop that the home jersey is maroon and the away jersey is yellow with dark yellow stripes.
I was at Highbury yesterday at the store and asked this very question. I was shown a picture of one of the teams from the 30s or 40s with a very maroonish color kit and was told that they'll be pretty much that color but they wouldn't give away more than that, except to say it'll have a few things on it to celebrate our last year at Highbury.
On a side note, I was interviewed about Jens Lehman and what I thought of him. It was for German tv, and the interviewed about cr@pped himself when I said I was an American.

Sounds like the jerseys will look good, thanks for the info.
Also, glad to hear you caused a stir in the Fatherland! Duly repped for that one :D :D

I guess your right, but it seems like there are more Nike teams then any other, so I see them a lot more. The last straw was having the same kit as Man. U. Can Nike (or any other manufacturer) really be making that much more money by using the same design for every team?

I'm still hoping against hope that we'll take the sponsor name off the home shirt.
Chelsea's doing it (at least for League games), and it would be a perfect salute for the last season at Highbury.

Agree about the sponsorship to a point. I think it could be a marketing bonanza as well as a fitting tribute to Highbury to wear SEVERAL home kits, dating back to the first home match at Highbury and celebrating our proud history at the Ground. The traditional kits would be sponsorless of course and exact replicas of the originals, and if possible even bring back the JVC and Dreamcast strips for an encore too(if legally feasible) and wear the O2 also and then have a single testimonial kit to be worn in the first and last home matches and away at grounds where we wear the home strip normally. (s***s, chelski, etc...)This we we honor the complete history of Arsenal at Highbury in a deserved way...
