Just saw this on skysports.com. Not bad for a "lucky" team.

Well, this wouldn't have anything to say about our luck, really.

I was being sarcastic, as it seems all gooners think we keep getting lucky. This is a little evidence to the contrary, that's all.

Sorry guys, i'm not trying to troll here, but that article has probably the most worthless statistical analysis i have ever seen. The only statistic i found relevant was this:
Alexei Smertin...the Russia international...
the 666 minutes that the midfielder has played this campaign in The Premiership, Chelsea have conceded just twice.
Coincidence? I think not. :D

No Yasik, its not. Its just a points per game statistic. Of COURSE ours are going to be higher, because we win more. Our goal differential and goals against are proof against the "luck" claim, not this.

it's a curse, man. but i agree, the stats that opta uses are kind of irrelevant and weird. I just thought that it is good to see stuff like that for our Chelsea forum news and built our ego (not that we need to) :D

Yeah, it beats a worthless analysis that says that Chelsea players are shite, that would only be a popular discussion item on the Arsenal board! I do miss the days when Opta stats actually counted things like passes attempted/completed and tackles attempted/made, etc. when conducting statistical analysis of players. I guess Murdoch can't afford to provide that kind of information to the fans who pay so much to watch the games on his TV channels. He just has an intern spend ten minutes with a calculator and a results sheet and gives it to Sky as a "news" item. The cheap bastard. :D

Hijack!
Flippin Sky. I remember when Sky Sports used to get you football coverage. Nowadays your £17 just earns you the right to watch the PPV games (all of them that have any merit) for a £5 rather than £10

just imagine if i had to go through the list of names who say we're lucky and those who don't. ok, i'll try, those who say we aren't=3(based on the quick glimpse over your thread in your boards), those who say we are lucky=calculating data..........whoops, computer froze. Damn it Dave, see what you have done. :D

Hmm and Rick id have thought....was gonna play the age card. Rick and I are both 25...dunno bout Val and Otter. I think its a generational thing. We remember the lean times...others are having to ready themselves now for the first time and do so by moaning about the opposition....

Please take a look at the thread and my post and add my name to your little list. Thanks ever so much.
Couldn't find my post? Thats because I don't think a team that is top of the Prem is lucky. Lucky that you have had a rich owner come in maybe, but the game are played over 9 months, no team is that lucky.

couldn't agree more, although i wouldn't know anything of a generational thing since i'm also only 25 and only following Chelsea since RA.
