I love this show. But it never garnered a discussion thread here last season, for some reason.
Some thoughts about the season premiere -
No surprise to me that Jonesy came out of the fire with Sophie (but not Apollonia). Same with Professor Lodz being really dead. Wierd that they didn't bury him though. Some think he'll be back. If not, I'll miss him - such a great character. And poor Lila.
Now, the wierd and confusing stuff (umm, guess that's just about everything).
There had been a lot of speculation on other chat boards about management being the Russian soldier, but it was sort of strange to hear him/it come right out and say it. Now ... is he Justin's father as well? And which one is good/evil - management or Scudder (Ben's father)? And who/what is the Usher/tatooed man? He's Sophie's father. So what is Sophie's role in this? And remember, she's pregnant.
Oh, well. Could go on and on and on. Creepy stuff.

I love this show too. Unforutnately, that means it will last about one more season on the air before it's cancelled.
That blonde burlesque dancer from the first season (I didn't catch the new episode yet, don't spoil it!) was hands down the hottest woman to ever get naked on TV. HOLY CRAP!

OK I found a Bit Torrent Site to watch this show.
Great Episode, It was everything I expected and More. I dont know about but does anyone notice is a man but has a womans voice? Something is going to happen between the Preacher and His sister, I can feel it. Why would he want his sister to get cought for burning down the church? Its been a while since last season, Does she know that the Preacher is Posessed?
This is probibly the Greatest show on TV right now and I cant wait until next week.

Sorry for the late response, I was completely stunned by the sudden rush of information in this episode after being teased for so long - Ben finds the acid-disfigured Scudder, heals him at the expense of the health of a bunch of strangers and (fortuitously) Justin's emissary who was about to kill them both ... then naively takes Scudder back to management as if they were just old friends who wanted to talk. Management of course immediately tries to kill Scudder - although you'd think someone with no legs and one arm might have a better murder method in mind than strangulation ... but who knows, maybe that's the only way it can happen. Ben saves Scudder by stabbing management multiple times, only for the episode to end with his own neck in the iron grip of the suddenly-revived management aka Russian soldier aka Justin's father.
Surely, Ben gets away and management dies .... then again, Ben could save him. But at whose expense? This show is nothing if not predictable. Still not sure who the tattooed man/Sofie's father is. I'd thought it was Scudder, but then Ben and Sofie slept together (incestuously?), so I hope it wasn't.
Back to the overload of information - I certainly could've done without some of the details in this episidoe - Iris' overly-intimate inseam measurement technique on Justin, hearing Sampson's ex-wife discussing their sex life ("not every part of Sampson is small"), and worst of all, learning that Libby saves the backdoor for Jonesy because he's special. Ewww.

Yeah That Part with the Midget and a girl with the Deformormed hands was sick, The same can be said about That Libby and Jonesy scene. For some reason I had always assumed Libby was a virgin lol. I cant wait until next week.

I loved last season, but have found myself not really caring for season 2. Ron Moore seemed to have a better grasp of the direction it was taking and how to properly reveal things, with him gone it seems like the show's headed towards the crapper.
It still hasn't been renewed for season 3, ratings have been the biggest concern.

i absolutley love this show. i think they'll be wrapping things up pretty soon. it's not like the sopranos where they can add other plot lines later. once Ben clears up what the whole Scudder/Management/Alexi thing is, the show will be over. we shouldn't be too far away from that either (altough Ben is still far away from Alexi). but man it is good

I have the distinct feeling they found out it won't be renewed and had to suddenly move the plot along to wrap it up. No special knowledge on my part, just a gut feeling. How many episodes are left? Two? I know Deadwood starts on Mar 6, and HBO usually wraps up one show the same night they start the next one.

Actually it'll be 12 or 13 episodes. HBO will be pushing Carnivale to 10pm once Deadwood starts. I was surprised that they'd do that.

Why? Whats so good about it?
I know its about the Gold Rush but is there some kind of underlying plot? I watched a couple episodes and it just seems boring. Well, atleast compared to Carnivale.

One of the BEST tv shows out there. Great drama with stories that intertwine a bit of history and a bit of fiction.

12 or 13 more episodes of Carnivale!?? Great news, but given that, I've pretty sure this will be the last season.
It took me a few episodes to warm up to Deadwood, but to me, it's more about the characters, not so much the plot. Al Swearingen is the best good/bad character since Tony Soprano. I like that there are times I laugh out loud. Don't get too much of that in Carnivale.

Actually I meant that the current season is only 12 or 13 episodes, so we're just over halfway through.
Agreed on Deadwood, Swearingen is the new Tony Soprano.

Well, now I've got a pretty comprehensive understanding of what went down when Ben killed Management. Good episode last night.
