Just two months after the end of the previous version (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136547), Version 4 airs its first episode tomorrow (Sunday, 1/9/05).

This time around the housemates are:


Model Adrianne Curry
Rap star Da Brat
Former pro wrestler Joanie Laurer (a.k.a. Chyna)
Model Marcus Schenkenberg
Ex Go-Go Jane Wiedlin
Actor Michael Knight (Peter Brady from The Brady Bunch)
Actor Vern Troyer (Mini-Me from the Austin Powers series)

It should be interesting. :D There'll undoubtedly be no shortage of wackiness - as a matter of fact, I'm kinda hoping that one of them will be calm/sane ala David Coulier from Version 3, though I honestly don't yet know which of them would fit that role.

Unfortunately I had missed the first two incarnations of the show (I think MC Hammer was on the first one). :( Hopefully VH1 will replay them at some point. :)

So MC Hammer was the cool/normal one in Season 1 and David Coulier was the cool/normal one in Season 3... who was the cool/normal one in Season 2? :confused:

Season 4 certainly seems like it'll be both a bit similar and a bit different than Season 3.


My impressions from the first episode:

It does indeed seem like Michael Knight's gonna be the cool guy this time around. He seems to already have been thrust into a father-figure role that he didn't necessarily want.

Marcus Schenkenberg was relatively quiet, and I think that he's gonna remain in the background for the most part (a smart move in Episode 1, as he didn't end up having to deal with a drunk and moaning Vern Troyer :eek: ).

Da Brat seemed to fill the Ryan Starr role from Season 3, but took it one step further: so far, she doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with any of the housemates.

Joanie Laurer (i.e. Chyna) is the eccentric ala Brigette Nielsen, but more spaced-out.

Vern Troyer will provide much entertainment ala Flava Flav, just maybe not overtly so.

Jane Wiedlin seems to fill the semi-cool/semi-eccentric role last filled by Charo.

Judging by the preview of the rest of the season, it seems like Adrianne Curry will be revealing a more wacky side to her (particularly surprising, as supermodels generally don't publicly show a wacky side).

My impressions of the show:
Michael - the level headed one
Da Brat - she doesn't want to be associated with has beens? Why did you sign up?
Adrienne - pretty hot, former druggie. You can tell she really needs a strong father figure type. She hooks up with Michael despite the efforts to have her hook up with Marcus. I loved her comment regarding models.
Jane - she seems to be pretty wacky. I know she's married but from the promos she seems to be bisexual. Does she come on to Adrienne?
Marcus - very quiet, letting the wackos do their thing
Vern - wtf?! Was I the only person to worry that Vern would drop dead from alcohol posioning. I mean how much does he actually weigh? 50,60 pounds? It wouldn't take much to get him drunk or even kill him. He was acting pretty creepy (pissing in the corner naked).
Chyna - what a drunk c**t! She moves into the single bedroom which is obviously setup for a little person. My wife kept asking me if she was a transexual. She might be.


This looks to be the best version yet.

I havent seen the episode yet, but isnt it funny how the LEAST Talented and/or MOST inexperienced person in the house is usually the one that doesnt want to be associated with "crap"(ie. DaBrat, Vanilla Ice, Ryan Starr)?

Its also pretty freaking funny that the show is in its 4th season and they still dont know thats what the whole show is about. Its like going on Fear Factor and complaining about the food.

is it just me or is chyna trying to be to girlie?? A lot of people say she looks like a man and sounds like it. Then she comes on the first show with her breast all out wearing a bathing suit. plus she is a dumbass for not figuring out that the one room was for a lil person.

i can't believe Da Brat is calling everyone a has been. did she know what the hell the Surreal Life was?? did she expect brad pitt, andre 3000 and a host of others to be her roommates?? not only that, but what the hell worthwhile has she ever done????? the Go Gos will be remembered long after everyone has forgotten about Da Brat, which for me happen somewhere around 1995

This week's episode had the housemates babysitting ten preschool-age kids for four hours, with $100 donated to charity per kid. For every kid that cried and demanded to go home, they lost $100. In the end, six kids stayed, so $600 was donated.

The standouts throughout most of the episode were Adrienne Curry (who in Christopher Knight's and Da Brat's views, exaggerated everything just for show), Vern Troyer (he was being "attacked" by many of the little girls, all of whom were bigger than him) and Jane Wiedlin (who eventually actually got along really well with many of the little girls, painting their faces like cats and tigers and such).

Then after all the kids left, the whole group cleaned up the house except for Troyer, who immediately went to sleep.

Finally, Joanie Laurer just went nuts jumping around the house, not letting Jane Wiedlin and Da Brat sleep ("I usually go to bed at 7am").

It seems like next week's show will take place at a cattle ranch.
