Checked the score and was wondering what kind of team we were fielding considering the scorline. Sort of surprised to see all our starters, we should be winning big. As The Thing, of Marvel Comics fame, would say, "It's clobberin' time!"

The thing with the FA Cup is that the form book goes out of the window (and as many other cliches as you can fit in).

A good win this, and i don't want to jinx it, but i have a feeling this is our year for the cup.

BTW the second FA Cup is up for sale next week. Should Spurs buy it? It covers the period of our 1901 win and should cost £300,000.

We were crap today.

We started out without a right midfield. Kelly was told to push up a lot and we had three in centre mid.

Even King was making mistakes today. Everyone just seemed a bit flat and no one was really trying. Keane was moaning a lot as usual. Mendes was the best player on the pitch in the first half (until he got switched out to right wing).

We were in control with our posession football but we just couldn't go forward. Brighton putting 11 men behind the ball whenever we had it really didn't help but they weren't any good.

The second half was a bit dodgy, fair play to Jol for swapping it to a 4-3-3 with Carrick, Brown and Ziegler in midfield and then Keane, Defoe and Yeates up front. Keane took his goal extremely well (the only thing he did well today) and Yeates should have had at least one. He seems very skillfull but was just trying to take it round too many people. He could have got 3 shots off and probably scored but instead tried to beat another man.

Thankfully we saved this performance for today rather than next weekend. We were lucky to win.

How'd Defoe look out there today? Not 100% from injury or...?

We were poor today, Brighton played a same sort of style as Palace did, always closing down the player, never leaving any sort of time on the ball.
Jermain did not look 100%, we missed Kanoute in a big way. Ziegler didnt have a good game today.

Brighton had the most away supporters i have ever seen at the Lane.

Great goal from Keane :D and we're into the 4th round of the hat, we didn't play well today but atleast we kept our offday in a cup came, Its Chelsea next in the league.

Great goal by Keano, just thankful that the team can play below-par and still win against very committed opposition who played it like their cup final. In the past we more than likely would have lost this one and got knocked out.

Onto the 4th round, draw is on Monday. Hope to be drawn at home against someone like Oldham.... or Exeter :D

Steady. Tis only the third round :)

Exeter will be out. Man U will be at full strength for the replay. Interesting that people want Oldham in the draw. They look to be a troublesome outfit. I think a Spurs/West Ham match could provide some entertainment....especially with your current squad being a lot of ex Hammers :)

We beat Oldham 6-0 in the Carling earlier in the season if memory serves...

Heh fair enough. I stand corrected. Can someone tell me when the F.A cup 4th round draw is on, i thought it might be tomorow as most of the 3rd round games would have been finished but does anyone know when its happening?

Bit lucky really, but so were lots of teams. it's all about the scoreline and getting through. Great goal from Keane.

I hate watching the tv when they say "oh it's a great result!!" and it's 0-0 at HT, prem vs league 1/2/conf etc well, not a result and why is it great anyway? the game will clearly end up differently.

They won't make the same mistake again, Fergie was fuming after that!
