Here are a few players coach Bruce Arena might call up: goalies: Marcus Hahnemann, Joe Cannon; defenders: Jonathan Spector, Bryan Namoff, Robin Fraser, Troy Dayak; midfielders: Josh Gross, Danny Szetela, Brian Carroll, Jason Kries, Mark Chung; forwards: Freddy Adu, Jeff Cunningham, Dante Washington
Well, that isn't a bad line-up, but which of these players would actually accept the call-up? Freddy Scabdu? Josh "that's a" Gros scab? Dante WashingScabs? Jason Kreis when he gets a scab?
I expect most of them to show solidarity with their teammates.

I expect most of them to show solidarity with their teammates.Out of those players, most would say only Adu, Szetela, and Spector have any real future with the NT, with Gross having an outside chance. The Fed were able to find guys (some with caps) willing to play in Peru back in 96(?), I think they could get enough similar guys to go to TnT.

I was refering to the listed players MLS teammates when I said they would show solidarity with the striking/locked out players.
And I don't doubt that they will find players, but the majority will come from A-League/MISL.

I tend to agree with you on this. I don't think that any player who feels he has a future with the USMNT (Adu, Gros, Spector, etc.) will want to break ranks with his fellow players and show up for T&T. The scab team would be made up of players who look at it as an opportunity to put on the jersey for one game and have something to tell their grandchildren. And maybe a few older over-the-hill players might be tempted to play for one last hurrah.

That site in SLC looks awesome. All those hotels and the city building a new transportation stop right next to it. I'd love to an MLS team in an Urban setting like that instead of the cookie cutter suburban youth soccer complexes.

the mls player's union is a big plus for the players' fight with ussf... that pretty much cans all hope of mls scabs

Seems to me that if that stadium is built downtown, that will be the best location of any stadium in the USA. 4,000 hotel rooms, a trax stop, places to eat, all within 3 blocks. If KC moves, I may have to become a RSL fan. I really, really like what they're doing there (aside from the name, of course.)

Sorry, I wasn't being serious. I think Len's statement was closer to what I meant.
People duking it out to have a SSS? That's the nicest news I've heard in a while. Makes me almost like the name "Real Salt Lake" :D

Cunningham, Washington, Chung, Kries, Spector, and Fraser all have national team caps. I don't think they can be called in. And I know Hahnemann and Cannon have been in camps so that excludes them as well.

The other problem with your list is that quite a few of those players have been capped and are represented by the union.
Capped players: Marcus Hahnemann, Joe Cannon, Jonathan Spector, Jason Kries, Mark Chung, Jeff cunningham, Robin Fraser
