Good points so far from 1st half: Deisler and Lizarazu both look quite good.

Bad points so far from 1st half:Hashemian is so bad he has lost the ball so many times and has not made 1 good pass. Demichelis looks quite solid but he is mucking around with the ball on too many occasions trying to dribble when he should just pass or clear it.

So sagnol is still injured :( . We definitely miss him for coming big matches. Look like Magath now want to use Owen in his best position DM. I think it's a great decision as now we can put in one more attacking midfielder which is Deisler or Bastian on the right side.

Yeah, but at the expense of who... Ballack?... Frings? I don't see Hargreaves winning the spot over those two. Hargreaves one saving grace is his versatility. He can play outside back, wingman or d-mid. I don't see the lineup in the middle changing much from where it left off with Ballack deep, Hargreaves and Ze Roberto and/or Schweinsteiger wide, and Frings/Scholl up behind the forwards. Hopefully we don't start fixing something that isn't broken here.

I agree that Sagnol is an integral part of this side. Scholl I would add to that list as well... it is nice to see his name again. And look, he even gets the assist on Makaay's goal. Imagine that!!

I know I have mentioned this and had the arsenal thrown at me for mentioning it, but I would love to see Ballack give the center back a shot sometime. What the hell, why not? Not as a perminant change but just to "try it on". You never know, but with the amount of talented midfielders we have, we could use more of them on the pitch. Who better to convert to centerback than Ballack? Imagine the potential with he and Lucio in the center, a healthy Gorlitz and Philip Lahm next season on the outsides, and Frings in front of them to mind the defensive mid. Now for an attacking mid to fill the hole Scholl will leave when he departs/retires at season's end. Did I mention Rensing in the net? And Makaay and Guererro up top? This team has some potential for next year already based on the present talent and signings we know about already.

But... back to reality... we need to be sharp in our first match back. Arsenal is ready and playing.

My apologies... I forgot that I cut and pasted the score. My mistake.

I was arguing for that as a potential solution to the packed midfield/inept centerback problem with some friends the other day!! I remember Franz was pretty good attacking from the back, and Ballack seems to fit that mold when you look at his career. I wish they would try it.

@ eissman

yes, I believe Ballack could be a great CB, he's strong in tackle and in the air (not sure about his marking ability). But why should we have to give it a shot while there're already 4 good CB  We simply either don't have much time to try it on or have to let already settled CB have match practices.

Demichelis has the potential to become one of the great defenders, so let him gain more experience.

By the way, i'm confused that why Zickler played in the RB , he's an attacking midfielder who posseses great pace and shooting ability.

Lucio and Ballack at CB would leave a giant hole in defense if the two of them decide for a stroll upfield, but eissmann we can always practice on Championship Manager before we give your recommendation to the Bayern board.

Zickler really played at RB? I know Hitzfeld used him sometimes as RM and LM but never as a defender!

When did you get back? Didn't miss much here. WR's has just been so-so without you. Hope you had a decent holiday and nice transition from Deutschland

Zickler played at RB because Magath wanted to let play everybody and because Sagnol and Görlitz are still not fit.

some day my friend, some day...

Lucio and Ballack would make that center spot interesting. Of course, I see this suiting Ballack more when he is aging. I have heard alot of talk about Huth as of late... is center back material and will Bayern chase him?

Regardless, Munich is an interesting side already for next season without any transfers (other than the obvious Lahm move). Let's pick up a few trophies this season and build off that momentum.

If Linke goes to Blackburn, Kuffour moves to Newscatle, we'll need another DC. However if Huth joins Bayern, Demi just have slight chance keeping his 1st place. :p

Thanks BMGuy. I would take this deal... Linke and Kuffour to the Premiership for Huth to the Bundesliga and Champions League. If this is going to happen, I hope it happens now.

I do like Kuffour. Sad to see him leave.

Would Huth be Cup-tied???
