Hi to you all,
Looks to be the sort of place where I can help and be helped.
I am a UEFA A Licence coach with 20 plus years in Academy and EPL clubs.
Thats enough from me so if I can help a new coach then feel free to ask.

Fell off that site when paul started charging for drills etc..........free forum is a must for unbiased views etc.
I now mainly use the forum at www.and-again.com. All the old gang seem to be coming over.......except WvH

There are numerous instances of goalkeepers at Top clubs even International sides that would be considered small for GK's.
Shay Given at Newcastle Utd, the Mexican World Cup keeper Campos etc
If height is not an asset to you then you have to excel at positioning, with your feet moving faster than others to get you into the correct position to offer the greatest barrier you can for the player with the ball.
The easiest way to describe it is...INTO LINE , DOWN THE LINE, so you try to get between the ball and an imaginary line between the ball and the middle of the goal. Then once there, you advance rapidly in small steps towards the ball ONLY when you spot the player with the ball looking down at the ball and then touches it ( not shots)
The nearer you are to the ball, the greater the possibilities that you will block a shot. As far as collecting crosses, lack of height should NEVER be an excuse for poor timing of the jump. A GK regardless of height, is ALWAYS favorite to catch a ball simply because they are allowed to use their hands to touch the ball.
