As the title says!

At Bolton we need a fast, pacy striker who'll get us 15 goals as season. We also need a versitile full back, a centre back and a new goalkeeper (cos ours will be buggering off at some point soon)

I want Andy Johnson, Phil Neville, Henchoz and either Tim Howard or Roy Carroll from the manc gits. ;)

At Chelsea, we need more money and a good coach. :D

Saints need a miracle.

Arry, good ol' Arry, says they need some pace.

Offload Anelka, with enough money to sign a replacemant striker. Why not Ashton instead of him signing for Norwich? hmmm 2 million, not a bad signing for them, perhaps.
And don't need anymore cheeky bids/enquiries into Distin, Dunne and especially SWP.

I thought you supported Man United?

We need a striker (or 2) and a winger. Cover at center-half has already been taken care of. We could be in the market for another goalkeeper as well.

Ashton going to Norwich is a strange one because he'll get no more than half a season of Premiership football. Either the lad has no ambition or no-one else thinks he's really good enough for the Prem.

It is a strange move if he takes it. Judging by how long the negotiations have taken he does seem to be holding out for elsewhere.

Other clubs have been interested and bid for him, just not to the level of Norwich's 2.3 rising to 3 million pound bid, which is a bit too much in this day and age. Carlos Alberto the young brazilian forward at Porto who scored in the Champions League final last year just left them for 3 million euros, brings Ashton's fee into perspective.

Well English players have been overpriced for some time now. But I agree that the Ashton move seems odd. It's also unlikely that a player of his calibre is not attracting interest from other clubs currently at the level of the game that Peter Crouch makes a living from. Weren't Spurs in for him a while back? Or am I getting that mixed up?

As to Liverpool's needs, a striker is the obvious one. Closely followed by a long-term centreback reinforcement. But we will do most of our business in the summer, I should imagine.

We need 11 new players, a manager with an iota of tactical nouse and a chairman who doesn't go over the managers head and buy players that HE thinks we need.

He he he ... this thread did kinda need an Albion fan. ;)

Bryan Robson, eh? What is it that he's got that Peter Reid lacks, I wonder ...

The overpricing of English players is one of the major reasons why there aren't more English players in the Premiership and why some good prospects are languishing in the lower leagues. Ashton is not worth £2 million in this day and age, Michael Dawson is not worth £2 million (or even more laughably £5 million). As long as clubs can go abroad and pick up tried and tested players for next to nothing, who are of comparable quality at least, then this trend will continue. It's not entirely the fault of the CCC clubs though, they need to survive and they need to bring money in. It may be a few years before the reality of the transfer market hits them fully, about the same time that certain Premiership clubs stop overpaying for young English players.

How old is Ashton again? Maybe he sees this move as a bit of time in the window and a chance to bounce back with Norwich (knock-on-wood). I agree that it seems odd but I thought he was still pretty young. So it may not be that wacked.

And how many other clubs in the prem were tabling official bids for him?

21 I think.

For Blackburn, I think the additions of Mokoena and Nelsen are nice. I'd like to see a new striker brought in to give us someone other than Dickov to score on a decent basis. So far he's the only front man to be all too consistent this year.

Since we got the striker I asked for, I'll take some younger legs on defense and a midfielder to groom as Gravesen's replacement.

Arsenal need Sean Wright-Phillips, his showing last week against us should speak for itself. Plus his pace fits into our style and would make opposing teams be careful about the numbers they put forward. His speed would be a great weapon on counters and all the great flowing moves we put together.
