Because I like asking such questions in River's TV threads, what is this exactly? Well, besides "Summer Tournament". Is this anything important or just organized pre-season games?

I sorta had the same question.
I assume there are two seasons. La Clausura Tournament and La Apertura Tournament?

There have been various tournaments and cups for years during the summer in pre-season preparation since the league was divided into two parts back in 1967. (Between 1986-91 the was only one season, along with a Pre-Libertadores Liguilla. That ended when the Clausura/Apertura format was created.)
This is the third edition of the current Torneo de Verano involving the five major Buenos Aires clubs and being played in Mar del Plata, Mendoza and Salta.
Boca won in 2003 and San Lorenzo won last year.
