Those are some great articles in the Salt Lake Tribune. Big props to the paper - three different writers covering some aspect of RSL on the same day? Outstanding.

Let me go out on a limb here and say Mathis is going to have a knock-your-socks-off year in Salt Lake. I have a feeling he'll work well with Ellinger, he'll want to impress Bruce again to get in the WCQ games, and he'll want to show up Hannover, especially since the two clubs will be in partnership. I love this quote:

Mathis is looking forward to playing Hannover. "I'm friends with every single one of those players," Mathis said. "In training, we used to kill each other, but when we walked off we were all friends."

If history holds true he will have a great two or three months and then fade way.

I like Mathis but I think he has a hard time staying motivated over an extended period of time.

This last line makes it sound like you know Clint personally, as if you had grown up across the street from him or something. Please tell us more about the person that is Clint Mathis.

I don't know him.

I was just expressing an opinion base purely on games and information from obscure internet sites. I think this is standard practice on BS.

The stadium story was also the top front page story of the paper, not just the sports section. RSL has really had a good share of media coverage lately. It's also good to see Gordon Monson writing good things about RSL, since he's the most popular sports columnist in town.
