Sean Wright Phillips has been carrying Man City on his back, His Goals and his vision is the only reason why Man City isnt Bottom of the league and why Kevin Keegan isnt Sacked. He is alot more productive then C. Ronaldo and is to put it bluntly, a Better Player. C. Ronaldo has some nice dribbiling skills but thats pretty much it. I know you guys are going to say stuff like how C. Ronaldo lead Portugal to the Euro 2004 final, but that is irelevant. I know for sure that If S.W.P. was playing for England, they would have done better. SWP shines every time he plays for england, He even scored a wonder goal vs the Ukrane. How you Man U fans say that Ronaldo Is better?

I agree with you
I am Man City fan so I might be a little bit biased. C Ronaldo is not bad but remember, he is playing for a better team, Man Utd. C Ronaldo is playing with Rooney, Van RUUD, Kean..... etc, and who does SWP have compared with Ronaldo? If C Ronaldo was playing for Man City, he would not do as good of a job as SWP because SWP is just more talented.
In terms of Euro 2004, Portugal had home field advantage every game, and again Ronaldo's surrounding players are much better than the surrounding players that SWP has.
SWP is the back bone of Man City, him and Anelka. Too bad Man City is haing so much financial difficulties that they will have to sell SWP and Anelka soon. If the fail to make the UEFA cup this year, they won't generate enough revenue to keep the team together. Anelka is gone no matter what, and Arsenal is interested in SWP.

Well, I don't. I think SWP is better too.

Depends on your criteria - I think Ronaldo has more ultimate potential than SWP but I'd prefer SWP in my team today
(It's a bit of a harsh comparison though when you compare player ages)

Ronaldo isn't a finished product yet.
I'm not saying SWP is fully developed either, but in the end, if both maximize their potential, I believe Ronaldo will win out.

Not much to discuss if you are going to dismiss their performances (or lack thereof) in International competitions.
The facts would seem to indicate that SWP has produced more for City than Ronaldo has for United this season. Fair enough. They are both young so the future is bright for both players, IMO.
SWP won't be at City after this summer if he keeps his current form up...

Well, that would nullify the 'Ronaldo is better' argument, wouldn't it? United buying a right winger when they already have such a brilliant one? Anyway, if you think City would sell him to United, or that they even have the money to buy him, you're badly mistaken. Also, Ronaldo sucks. Football's not about how well you can do stepovers.

I'd be surprised if SWP goes anywhere except Arsenal or Chelsea. Very slim chance that Liverpool or a team on the continent would get him.

I'm sure he'll get a lovely reception there next year when he walks onto the pitch wearing Chelsea's colors.

Shaun Wright-Phillips IS better than Ronaldo, but I have many arguments with your other points.
1. We are not a one man team. Up front Anelka carried us for the first half of the season with 6 goals in as many games, Richard Dunne has been consistantly brilliant in defence - our rock there, Sylvian Distan is usually solid but makes at least one mistake that costs us, and we have Thatcher/Jordan and Mills/Onuhoua on the wings who are solid enough. Jordan and Onuhoua are both Academy prospects, and Jordan on his full debut basically kept us in the game at Old Trafford this season, whilst Onuhoua had more strength than Duncan Ferguson at Everton away. How do I know thia? Because I was there.
2. Shaun Wright Phillips has NO real links with Arsenal. Sure his dad was a Highbury legend, but Shaun grew up in the Nottingham Forest academy scheme, and was then released for 'being too small', he then came to us and has been with us for the last 6/7 years now. His brither Bradley Wright-Phillisp is also playing for us. Do you really think he'd leave all that for Arsenal? City wont sell him, we'd rather sell Anelka first than the crowd favourite. The fans have left it certain that they'd be riots if SWP was sold.
3. And thirdly, I must say its been great watching SWP evolve. I remember him as a kid coming on vs Birmingham, loads though he'd never make it, now hes considered better than Beckham, and the media are all clamouring for him to replace him, not a bad thing as the Media basically pick the team these days.

All good points but regarding your comment in the 2nd item where you say City wont sell him.
Unfortunately, due to the severe financial issues at the club you may not have any choice in the matter. The Chairman and Manager have both said they wouldn't be able to turn down a "massive offer" and have gone so far as to put a £ value against this (£20M IIRC). Based on what we've seen in the past that's pretty much tantamount to putting the kid in the shop window.
It's a shame though - you can see the kid has genuine feelings for the club and what it has done for him. If he does go I'm guessing it wont be down to him pushing for a transfer.
