I won't be able to help much with actual drills and skill tips because it's been a long time since I played in goal. I started out in goal and had some proper coaching at the club in Belguim I used to play for but I moved outfield and haven't looked back.
What I will suggest though is be confident. A confident keeper installs confidence in the rest of his team. Talk to your back four, make sure you make any calls you need to, be certain of everything you do (like catching a cross, don't go and then think "Hold on... I might miss this"). Go out and be confident and you'll be fine.

Yeah make sure you are the the leader of your defense.
some drills would be just do some regular diving along the semi- circle at the top of the 18.
then just sit on the ground and have someone throw the ball left and right alternating to make you dive, and then work up to your feet.
When diving make sure that you land on you leg first so your body doesnt hit the ground. I will remember the first time that i made that mistake and i learned my lesson after taht.
good luck mate hope all goes well. just practice practice practice. you might try asking some of the other keepers on your team for help im sure tehy will teach you some neat ricks like i have but dont wanna type out.

im actually quite small (which is the reason i havnt had a chance before) so aport from coming out early and 'narowing the angles' is theyre any other way to make up for my size

a drill i love doing for gk practice is when a player takes a throw in, the striker heads the ball, and you try to save. repeat as needed.
and to make up for ur small size try to be very agile and nimble, have a VERY good positioning sense, and good handling of the ball.

a good tip is go for the ball on shots some goalkeepers dont go all out and thats how they get beat....also a drill to improve reaction speed is take a ball go to some stairs throw the ball at the stairs and try to catch it....it takes wierd bounces and its kind of hard.....also have someone take shots on you with a smaller ball
I dont play goalie (forward actuaally) but we have some really good goalies on the team

Not sure if its been mentioned, but just a tip; be vocal! Recently i've seen a few keepers who've been so quiet and didn't communicate well with their defenders, resulting in a few goals. I mean, being vocal goes for every position but it seems to be very imporant for a keeper.

a 'keeper 2 years older than me gave me a realy good penalty tip- if the player runs up wide to the ball it goes in the opposite corner to they are 'footed' and a straight run up shows they are putting the ball into the same corner they are 'footed', its realy funny when you know which way they are putting ball-you still have to save it though :D

Don't fall for the trap! If you are small (as you mention below) work harder at your field skills. People will begin treating you strangely if you become a "goalkeeping specialist" and unless your team is very good - you have a thankless (read very painful) job. If your team is good - it can be tough as well - unless you are very good.
When I spent two years mainly 'keeping, my coach was generous enough to at least swap me out into the field for the last 5 - 10 minutes so that I could dish out some (completely civilized and within the laws of the game of course) retribution to all of the jerks who had kicked me, spiked me, elbowed me . . . while I was focusing completely on playing the ball.
But if you are dead set on being a goalkeeper - I suppose it is best to sell out completely and play with a lot of decisiveness and confidence. You have to project confidence both to psych yourself into making the split-second decisions and to ensure that your defenders and teammates respond to your instructions. Remember - you are usually in a position to see the game better than anyone else so act like you know what is going on.

I would suggest being decisive. As a keeper you have to make split second decisions all the time, and sometimes you might make the wrong decision but once you make it, stick with it (within reason obviously) this mainly relates to crosses and break aways and what nots. Once you decide to go for the ball, don't give up till you have.
Secondly, I would suggest that you don't let the score dictate your play. As a kid I was prone to letting in a soft goals more so if we were down say 3-1 with like 15 minutes left. As is the case, my team would always come back and score 2 and we would lose 4-3 because I let up a bit at the end because I thought we lost.
Also, if you are up 7-0 or down 7-0 or whatever, never give up, never let in a weak goal just because you think it will make no difference to the outcome of the game, you never know who is in the stands.
