Don't know if anyone remembers me, I used to post in here for a while but recently moved back to London from Indianapolis and have been crazy busy. To my shame I've only been able to see one live game...the Carling Cup tie that we were supposed to trounce Arsenal's kiddies :( But considering the season we're enjoying I'm not too upset about it.
FA Cup game this weekend, its live on BBC1, so will be good to see Beattie in action. Is anyone else thinking "concentrate on the league" though? I wouldn't want the dent in confidence of losing to a lower league team but after that I'm not really bothered.
After a fairly heavy smoking session the other day, I was reflecting how many points it would take to finish 4th. I expect we'd need as much as 70, possibly 72, which seemed a little daunting. Not because we couldn't achieve it with the start that we'd had, just the number itself. Its got be at least 15 years since we've done that well.

Welcome back. I remember you... How's London treating you? Better than it has threated Everton, I hope. :D
I'm with you. I couldn't give a crap about this FA Cup game. We've got too much to handle with the league and if we lose, eh... so what? As for our finish, I think 4th is too high of a hope. I think we have the determination, but not the depth that a finish that high in the table would require. One injury kills us (Martyn) and we're bound to have a few more before season's end.
70+ points does seem like a daunting number, doesn't it?

Yeah i do remember you also Kerpow i wondered what had happened to you and Rymanryan since the season had started!
I also don't really mind what we do in the cup but we may aswell crack on with it and try our best you never know we might actually take home some silverware this year! It's not impossible. Personally i thought we might have done the Carling Cup but no such luck there.

Good to see you back, kerpow. :)
Getting 70 pts should be feasible for us. We're at 43 pts with 16 games to play, so we could reach 70 pts by winning the following:
Home: Charlton, Norwich, Blackburn, Crystal Palace, Birmingham, Newcastle
Away: Southampton, West Brom, Fulham

:D We're not gonna win it anyway, so what do I care? I'd rather take 4th when it's all over... (don't worry, I DO realize this probably won't happen)

Come on guys - remember we have a good tradition in the cup. 1995 - who thought we would win then. Just need a few home draws and a fit squad and who knows....

Welcome back kerpow
vw you forgot to add the Red Shyte to that list of teams we will beat away :D
As for the FA Cup I hope we go as far as we can in this as they say a cup run gives the team confidence. I don't want us to get beat tomorrow cos we've live on the telly and especially as it is to a lower league team.
