Hello to all!I'm new to this forum and although i'v searched A LOT to find something about my question, i couldn't!So,does any of you know why cleats arent' allowed in some places? Is it just a matter of injury or is it something else?I bought a pair of Predator Pulse FG(these boots are incredible!)and are suitable for the ground i play now(Very soft and thick synthetic grass)...but...what if i want to play to another field with shorter turf and harder ground?!Are these boots suitable?!
If a similar thread exists,i'll understand if a moderator locks my thread!
Thank you all!Any advice or opinion would really really help!

If you're trying to use those shoes on synthetic field turf (looks like grass and has granulated bits of rubber in it) then don't. They'll grab the turf and roll your ankle (or worse) in a heartbeat. Same thing with astroturf-style synthetic turf, which is smoother and harder. Save those $200 cleats for the outdoor season.

Yes, FG studs don't last very long on turf.

Hello again!Really glad for responding!Bungadiri & nvan i used these cleats on synthetic grass and i can tell you that compared to my old Umbro Patriot TF ,the Predators are more stable and give me the ability to accelerate faster! So,for this field i play now i don't think i'll buy TF studs again...
I'll check how FG's work on less "good" field(turf),although i can imagine that both of you are right, because the ground will be harder!By the way, Nvan what do you mean that FG's don't last long in turf?To be honest it's the first time i hear that!Did you have a similar experience? Thanks!

I don't know what type of turf you play on, but all the turf fields I know in my city (North Vancouver) have lots of small stones under the grass surface. I guess it's connected somehow with drainage system of a field. Plus the artificial grass is obviously a way harder than a natural one, so this all works like a soft sandpaper. Sometimes my club plays on a turf field if this is a homefield for our opponent and I use Umbro Owen 10 with HG studs. I need to say that after every game on turf my studs (especially the back ones) become a bit shorter and more roundish.

Nvan i played a couple of days ago for the first time with these boots!I hadn't any problems like cleats grabbing the turf or moving, changing very quickly directions!Everything was perfect plus i gained an extra acceleration with the predators!I had in mind about the thing you mentioned about the life of the cleats so i ckecked them at the end of the game...i have to say that i didn't notice any sign of wear on them, they weren't scratched or "polished"(as a result of this "sandpaper") from the contant with ground!Of course i'm not gonna use them on astroturf or sand-like surfaces! How long do you have your Umbro Owen HGs?And how many times per week do you play? Thanks a lot!
