Time to get back on track, fellas. This one I would consider a must-win if we are to stop our downward slide. The bubble hasn't burst yet!

Stubbs should be fit enough to return, after suffering a slight back injury against Charlton. Watson is still out with that stomach strain, Osman may or may not be fit enough to start, Big Dunc is serving the second game of his three game suspension and Kevin Kilbane, Tim Cahill and Lee Carsley are all on the verge of a suspension with four bookings this season.

As for the match itself, our defense absolutely must get their act together if we're gonna have a shot. None of this crap they pulled last game. We have to give Wright a chance. January is, after all, 31 days and we just have to accept the fact that we aren't going to see Martyn during that time.

It's a home game, so at least we'll have the crowd behind us. And Pompey have only won two games away from home this season.

Go Toffees!

This game is a MUST. Look who just snuck up to within three points of us. When we beat them, we put them twelve down of us.... it doesn't seem like so long ago..

come on blues

That lead was short-lived. Yakubu ties it up.

We're tired. Boring game. We'll either lose or draw. We don't have the gas to win this one.

One good thing I've noticed today -- I think McFaddy's confidence may be on its way back. He's been in the mix a lot today, couple of good chances. If he scores another one, he may well be fully recovered from his case of the shakes.

Campbell off, Bent on. I wonder why Bent didn't start? Seems like a strange decision.

We've had several decent chances in the past few minutes, but nothing's going in. Frustrating.

FT 2-1 Everton

We needed that. Not a pretty win, but we've won ugly all year. We're within 1 point of third, after ManU and Spurs drew. :D

BIG sign of relief.

Official Man of the Match goes to Gravesen, but I'd pick Osman for that winner at 90+2'

Yeeeeeees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
About time, last two minutes we had a few chances missed em all! Thought it woz over!! But it wernt!!

Now let's see what Beattie can do !!!!

Fa cup and then Chelsea is it?
Or revenge on Charlton.

Oh couldn't resist this from the match report on Chelsea Boro ( yes they lost!!)
"Chelsea should have added further goals before half-time with Robben having a ******** parried by Schwarzer and Duff unable to capitalise on the rebound. "

LOL

Stubbsy and Leon with the goals ... figures. :D

Portsmouth's not the best side to face for a slumpbuster, but we did the job today. How did Wright and the defense hold up after two forgettable displays in London?

If we're going 4-4-2, I start KK. It's great to see Jamie start to get back into form, but he still has a ways to go, in my mind at least, to justify starting over Kev.

If we're playing 4-5-1, though, they both could feasibly be on the field, depending on which other midfielders are available.

4-5-1 Osman, Mad Dog, Carsley, KK, Cahill and THE Mcfaddy.

WHICH ONE LOSES OUT!!!!???

I say we play Faddy instead of Kilbane, just because the boy needs to fully regain his confidence and after having 2 fairly good games it'd be harsh to ditch him right away.
