So what will happen if they ever decided to play a a friendly. Chivas USA will see who the real team is and who the fans will support.

And even more intriguing, what would happen if they meet in the Champions Cup?

Depends, some would say that Guadalajara is only margianly better that the best MLS sides right now. I won't guess until I see Chivas USA play at least a handful of games in MLS first.

I think a lot will depend on what will be build up the first two years of CDChivas. Now is in Ronguen's hands.

It would be great to have a yearly derby between the teams--a home and home series. That way the fans could see and decide for themselves.

That's not going to happen. Chivas USA already said they wont play against Chivas GDL.

It'd be funny though. CONCACAF Champions' Cup perhaps someday.

Do you happen to know why not? It seems like this would be a teriffic home-and-home series, even if only a "friendly." I don't know about in Guadalajara, but it seems like a lot of tickets would be sold in Carson and the surrounding areas.

I am sure they will cross path in training camps at guadalajara
In the future I see chivasUSA doing the same with the other sister team (or should I say brother), SAPRISSA, in costa Rica

a game or training sessions together.

Chivas USA President Antonio Cue on a match between Chivas USA and Chivas Guadalajara:

"No se puede, porque entre hermanos no se pegan."

I think the fear here is that if Chivas USA did win a match against the mother side that it would degrade the public's view of the club. The Guadelajara side is probably not much better than any of the current MLS clubs and I would imagine the Chivas USA will be just as competitive in a few short years. The level of play in the MLS is drastically improving as of late and I only see that trend continuing.

Chivas USA was founded to measure itself up against MLS teams, not Mexican teams.

What purpose (other than $$$) would a match between Chivas USA and Chivas Guadalajara serve?

It will be really hard for CD Guadalajara if they lose against CD Chivas, but i really think that the "big" teams, and some "Small" teams are really better than the MLS teams... the main probles is that there is no way to compare about it... until the Concacaf champios cup... in which two "small" teams (UNAM and Monterrey) are gonna play against DC and Kansas.... Mexicans teams have never been interested in this cup that much.. I hope that this changes this year......
