Coming back after break is the most difficult thing I've ever had to do.

Wow. I didn't expect this, but I am angry and disorganized, and I don't like it!

I'll try not to hold it against my students.

It's so weird. I love being a teacher... and I love my job... but I am resenting staff and students alike!!!!

Any more experienced teachers care to tell me if this feeling will go away or if I'm ruined now?!

I'm probably just resentful that I didn't finish any of the projects I set out to do over the last couple weeks!

Well, I doubt your students are very excited about returning either, but if you think coming back after a week and a half (or whatever your school has off) is bad, imagine what it will be like coming back after the summer.

I know that as a senior, coming back now sucks for multiple reasons. I was just off for a while, there is no motivation at all to do any work (even though I've never really been a hard worker in the first place), and I still need to work on my applications.

Woohoo... Went back on Tuesday to find out that my final semester of compulsory education is a complete cupcake! Two classes, one day. One of them is a re-hash of my entire undergrad major, while the other is mostly field work on a project that could do alot for me personally and professionally. Life is good. I may actually graduate on time :)

Wow. I never replied to this. Actually, going back to school after the summer was far easier for me!!!!

The two weeks was a serious break. I needed it desperately. The summer, however, was too long! I was actually ready to get back to work after a week or two. I was working for much of the summer anyway.

As for my difficult return after the holiday break....... all was well after the first day. We all got back into the swing of things quickly.

P.S. Get those apps done. Your desired spots at the schools you want are being filled!

For real. It really is beneficial to complete applications sooner rather than later. A lot less stress for one thing. Also, if you're applying online, you never know when the school's server is going to malfunction. For instance, a friend and I both applied early action to the University of Georgia back in October. We both had roughly the same GPA and SAT scores. However, I completed my application three days before the deadline, while he waited until the last minute. He tried to do his application, but the school's server was busy (a bunch of people were trying to finish up their applications). He ended up submitting his application a day late. I got accepted, he got deferred to regular action.

This has sparked my interest as to how many seniors post on BigSoccer. I think I'll start a BS Class of '05 thread.
