Ok, Paul,
Trailing by one point going into the second leg of our semi-final match may not argue for much of a change. But nae. I had to adjust my team with three moves this morning. It's your turn to figure out my moves this week.
If I stood pat, it would be too easy for you to adjust to match my team, so I thought I'd add a bit of uncertainty to the equation.
Hal
Okay then, i'll take a stab at it.
I figer you want to go with 2-5-3 again and most likely you still have RVN and Henry, Zola may have been sacrificed as 1 of the moves.
Richardson being injured is no help at all, move #2.
Finally Djorkaeff on a weak Bolton team for move #3 although you may have lost patience with Hibbert.
Overpower me with points from assists and goals.A clean sheet from a midfielder also a bonus thus the 2-5-3.Can't see you changing your keeper as he has been a consistant point earner.
Probably all wrong ;)
Now...off i go to see if i want to change anything...
Probably all wrong but who knows.

Made a couple of transfers and a drastic team change.
I am puting the whole game on one tactical move.
If it comes off i expect to win to advance to the final, if it backfires i could be in trouble.
Best of luck.

Well Hal i bet the house on Scholes as Captain on the back of them having an "easier" game against the brum compared to Liverpools still formidable defense for henry.
Didn't get the rewards i was looking for.
Best i can hope for now is a 0-0 at the library tomorrow.

That'll make it 4 matches between us in this comp Mark.
1-1 tie so far.
Although the other team was somewhat restricted with the very small rocks rules.

And this will be a two leg final, so actually two more matches to go.

OK Paul, one transfer made. That should be enough for me to win the cup ;)

First round:
First 8 seeds receive byes.
Seeds 9 through 24 play each other, with 9 playing 24, 10 playing 23, 11 playing 22, etc. in a two-legged knockout competition, with aggregate advancing.
Second Round:
1 playing the winner of 16 & 17
2 playing the winner of 15 & 18
3 playing the winner of 14 & 19
4 playing the winner of 13 & 20
and so on
Third, fourth, and fifth rounds continue along the same formula. This will take 10 weeks, so we can set it up to end with the last week of the season.

Wouldn't be a keeper would it Mark?
I took the liberty of having the cup sent to the dye shop..it's a lovely shade of blue :)

No, not a keeper, just keeping you on your toes though.
You know the authorities frown on defacing their property, I prefer a red tinge to the cup myself. :D

First leg of the cup final
Provisional score, site hasn't been updated fully yet
But I see Clanblues with 53 and me with 62.
We'll see if the phantom bonus points appear too.

My transfer of Mellberg for Unsworth paid off.
Nice 6 points there. But Henry continues to prop up my team.
He was lucky with his goal, Cudicini still looks injured to me.

I see Henry got one of those.
I watched that entire game and for the life of me i can't see why he would be awarded a bonus.

Wet pitch and heavy ball had others kicking for him.
Personally i would have still let big Ed play. It's not like he's incompetent.

I watched it too. Viera was the only one I would have considered. He gave a masterclass of how to play midfield today.
Thought your lot were unlucky not to pull it back at the end.
As for my team, I prefer fantasy to the real thing at the moment. We were awful.

Yeah, i watched the New/Pool game also.
Good dat for footie on the telly over here. :)
It's all gone terribly pear shaped as they say for the scouse.I mean they still have a fantastic defense but the goals have dried up and its hurting the cause.Newcastle are playing some good stuff right now.
