With this competition down to the final four, does anybody have ideas for our next competition that would involve all the bigsoccer league players.
We have 24 teams and could do another Champs League type tournament but if you have other ideas please post them. We have 3 match days before we start a new contest, so let's hear your ideas.

How about a this knockout competition?
Seeds based on league position in the first week of the competition:
First round:
First 8 seeds receive byes.
Seeds 9 through 24 play each other, with 9 playing 24, 10 playing 23, 11 playing 22, etc. in a two-legged knockout competition, with aggregate advancing.
Second Round:
1 playing the winner of 16 & 17
2 playing the winner of 15 & 18
3 playing the winner of 14 & 19
4 playing the winner of 13 & 20
and so on
Third, fourth, and fifth rounds continue along the same formula. This will take 10 weeks, so we can set it up to end with the last week of the season.

Out: Hamann, Greening, and Bogarde.
In: Jensen, Berkovic, and Sun
Well, like any manager worth his salt i'm not going to say exactly what i did.
However one move will surprise you i think.
As for your guesses.
Top line...1 out completely, 1 to the bench and 1 quite wrong.....i'll let you do the guessing ;)
Bottom line..1 correct..2 wrong....
This is too easy.
You've decided to keep faith with Hamann, so Hamann to the bench.
You did trade away Greening. And you didn't upgrade Bogarde, perhaps your other worthless player then.
The IN player is Berkovic. Now as to your other two, since you kept Hamann on the bench, you dropped Shearer for Beattie and picked up Yobo.
I'm sure you would like to have swung a Pires or Kewell, and if you went that way, forget Bekovic and add Sun.
What will surprise me is if you drop Henry. lol

2-5-3 i see from you.
Gallas has been rested for the saints game so you will have an all Everton back line..if Hibbert plays.
Kopite juniors have been hit hard by Chelsea as well as Cudicini and Lampard are not starting.
Yes, you kept Hamann on the bench, yes you went for Sun and traded Shearer for Beatie and then put him on the bench.
Of course Shearer has scored 2 goals. Beatie and SOU draw goalless with Chelsea.
With Hibbert, Dunn, Sun, and Hamann not even on the bench, Clanblues 11 has 4 N/A's and only gets 2 points from Beattie subbing in.
Aviators has Hibbert and Sun, both N/A this week, on the bench, so Aviators has no playing subs to fill in. Pires also started on the bench for Arsenal, but I expect him to play in the second half.

I was given no choice really with Shearer.I had no money and no reserves that would sub in as i filled my bench up with 3.0 duds just to make a full roster.
Shearer leaving made it possible to bring in players that would at least start a game...of course as is normal in these things when one does that the ********er scores, twice yet.Ho-Hum.
I had complete confidence in our league leading defense to hols the saints scoreless...thus i left Beattie on the bench hoping that somebody else would pick up more than the 2 points he would have got for the "start".
As they say.."the best laid plans...."

I like this idea and we could also do a "UEFA Cup" for those knocked out in the first round to keep their interest.

Sorry I missed that one. His value has gone from 7 to 8.4, popular player :)

Semi Finals
(matches played over two legs)
Clanblues XI 39 v 38 Aviators
Kopite Jrs 48 v 52 Kopite in KC FC
Two very close matches
Second legs this weekend
My kingdom for these bonuses.
Friedel, Scholes, and Beattie all got bonuses to pull Clanblues XI into a 1 point lead going into the second leg.
Beattie's for a goalless draw? Why'd that striker get a bonus?
And why does Scholes get a bonus for no goals or assists in a LOSING 3-1 match?

And Pires got one for playing 22 minutes???

Friedel and Beattie both played extremely good games.Beattie was a threat everytime he went forward (i listened to this game via internet on Big Blue).Scholes was the playmaker for everything that went forward for Manure.
The thing about these bonuses is that they are NOT like a motm award. They are given to players that play well regardless of the result.
Ok, Paul,
Trailing by one point going into the second leg of our semi-final match may not argue for much of a change. But nae. I had to adjust my team with three moves this morning. It's your turn to figure out my moves this week.
If I stood pat, it would be too easy for you to adjust to match my team, so I thought I'd add a bit of uncertainty to the equation.
